Insightful, painfully honest and beautifully expressed. You will nod in recognition, cry, laugh and applaud too! 10 stars!
I'm only on page 5 but I'm giving it 5 stars based on what I've read so far. I'll do a fuller review when I finish it but I am already enthralledThis is an update of my earlier review. I gave it 5 stars on page 5. Having read through the book -twice - and shared it with my friends and sisters, I would give it 10 stars if I had the option. This has to be among my top 5 book choice for 2015! We discussed it at a gathering of sister-friends and all agreed that the book allowed us all - married, single, divorced or separated - to reflect on the challenges of marriage particularly of the expectations placed on women by our community of African Christians. I can't recommend this book highly enough

This is a wonderful book from someone who is a really good writer
This is a wonderful book from someone who is a really good writer. I am white, non-religious and single but found the honesty and integrity of this account extraordinarily moving. She speaks to her readers beyond the boundaries of faith and experience. it was like going on a journey with a close, trusted friend.

Brilliantly put together...BOLD!!!
Nena.....is a GIANT in her own right and she is totally bold to write this memoir that most of African Christian women fear to do.....even in our private spaces. She has taken the muted voice to another level! THANK YOU .....for all of us!!! And it was simply amazing to finally meet you...;-)

I followed the author when she was a blogger and she did promise a book so I'm very pleased she followed through on her promise
Can't wait to read this book.I followed the author when she was a blogger and she did promise a book so I'm very pleased she followed through on her promise. It's a very honest and personal account of 'taboo' issues on marriage and divorce in an African culture. I have no doubt it will live up to the blog.
