I can honestly say this mattress protector has saved my brand new mattress!This morning I woke up to find that a disgruntled cat decided to leave a wet surprise on the other side of the bed right on the sheets. Needless to say it was big and it was a mess. Soaked right through my thin sheets and onto the mattress protector and went no further! I felt the bottom of side of the protector after I stripped it off the bed and it's completely dry. The mattress remains untouched. Thank you so much Lucid, you just saved me from a disaster! I just ordered 2 more.Another plus for this item is that it fits on my 13" Cal-King mattress absolutely perfectly. It doesn't shift around, and because it has a fitted sheet style it's easy to take off, wash and replace. I would really not want to have lift my mattress up off the box springs to unzip and undress it the way some other full cover protectors work.The price is very reasonable as well. At the time of my orders it's $27 for the Cal-King size.The texture of the material is nice as well. It feels like a thin terry cloth. The waterproof material is underneath the terry cloth finish. It not not rustle or feel stiff and noisy at all. If you don't need 360 degree bed bug protection then I would definitely get this over the others available here on Amazon. I would even say get the 360 protection and then put this over it so if there's a spill you don't need to call someone to help you lift the mattress to change out the protector.

We now have purchased this same item 4 times in total because they’re so amazing. I now use this brand on all of our mattresses. They hold up better than other brands, no cracking or tearing with age. We bought our first couple about 3 years ago for our toddler bed and they have been washed and soiled many times over and still work well and look great. With all the years of intensive kid messes not once has anything gone through to the mattress. If they ever wear out I plan to buy more.

The media could not be loaded. My number 1 concern was whether it was waterproof and watered it down with a piece of paper underneath to see if the paper got wet it didn't, so I'm pretty convinced. 5stars2nd. Noise. It doesn't crackle, but it does have a whispery noise as fabric moves against it. Still, I don't think it will be loud or distracting enough to bother my child. 4 stars. (I think *this* level of noise is a very good tradeoff for the waterproof quality)3. Fit. It fits my full mattress, but it should be noted my mattress is a little bit thin so the waterproof section of the protector may slip in a way that the less waterproof/protective part is actually on top of the mattress where it could cause staining if an accident were to happen on the edge of the bed. 4.5 stars4. Durability. I don't know. I We'll see how it holds up over time. If the waterproof material disintegrates like I've seen cheap material do I'll come update the review. overall the product appears to be sturdy. 5 stars

Here's the thing. We don't believe in paying hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on a nice mattress, only to ruin it over time with bacteria, possible stains, germs, and all sorts of creepy crawlies that aren't visible to the human eye (but stuff that's most definitely lurking around the house, especially with two big pups who love to cuddle all day and night). We also spend about a third of our lives in our beds, so why wouldn't you want to make sure it's as clean and yuck-free as can be?We had once received a super high quality mattress protector with our original mattress purchase (the mattress itself was close to $2000, so they threw it as a bonus). It was thick, sturdy, and 100% waterproof. The thing is, that after numerous washes, it started to get fairly worn out, stretched out, and the color even began to change. It felt really gross putting that thing back on the mattress, even if we knew it was clean. So when we were moving into a new home, I decided to swap out the protectors for our mattresses, and I feel so much better, knowing how clean the mattresses are, under our protectors and sheets.Because they're cheap, I don't expect them to last too long. They're quite thin and definitely not even close to the quality of the protectors that we previously had. But that's kind of the beauty of it. We can use these for a little while, let them last a few washes, then throw them out and swap 'em for new ones. No need to hassle with the stretching, fading, etc. - just clean beds, all the time.And who doesn't want that?** EDIT (01/05/16): I'm changing my review to 4 stars, because for the price, it does do what it says it will. I had originally given the product 3 stars, because the quality is much lower than our previous protector (which was thicker and more heavy duty, but also much more expensive), but that's to be expected and taken into consideration. Purchased this cover about three years ago. It has survived my mattress through several puking incidents from my cat & a number of liquid spills. We are getting a new king mattress and I’m buying the king size!
