First, other reviews cited how the instructions say to put the top together first before attaching the base but that created problems later. They said to ignore the instructions and start from the bottom like you would any torchiere lamp. I did but got hung up when I got to the top. On the top where the cord gets squiggly, you have to fold it into the larger tube because it will not pull through to the bottom of the lamp. It took a bit of finagling but I got it put together.That’s the good news. The bad news is that it is so light weight that it doesn’t really stand straight. I have another standing lamp that was fine but didn’t throw off enough light. The old lamp has a thick base and is very sturdy. I bought this one because of the reading light which would be helpful when sitting on the sofa and you need a reading lamp. It’s an LED light which you would think would make it super bright. It sort of is brighter but not any more than the lamp it replaced—which has a standard bulb.The jury is still out about whether I keep the lamp.It just looks so thin and flimsy compared to the other lamp. I would hate to try to figure out how to box it back up for return. The other con is once the lamp burns out, I don’t think you replace the bulbs, you throw the whole thing away. I’ll give it a couple of days to see if it grows on me.I suppose it would look nice in a space where one wants a delicate looking lamp that’s low profile.

I submitted the following to Amazon ReturnsI am writing about this order. The lamp works great and provides the light I want. However the joint between the middle and upper arms is weak and the top arm tilts. Doesn’t interfere with the function, but looks funny. I don’t know if I should return for another or not. I think this lamp does have this problem according to the reviews. I am so satisfied with the function I want one, but don’t know whether its worthwhile exchanging for another that might have the same problem. To people who want a good visual appearance of an item as well as it’s function sould be aware of this problem in my opinion. I am asking for an opinion on an exchange from you. Should I exchange? I did request return and got the OK, but that’s not what I want. I do want the lamp as I don’t think there is anything else like it I can find-just don’t know whether to apply for an exchange to get one that is cosmetically better.

I bought this lamp and was super excited when it arrived. It was beautiful, the light was bright, directional and the dimmer made it great. It was wonderful for the first 4 months. then the larger of the lights started to flicker and eventually would not turn on at all, about 1 month later the smaller lower light went. I unscrewed the pole (reversed the set up instructions) to see if I could see anything that would be causing this. the cord was twisted beyond belief and the insulation on the copper wiring was completely torn apart causing the lamp to short. This beautiful lamp is now a $66.99 fire hazard.

I needed a light in my office and from the picture this looked like a good choice. The problem is that the picture and the finished product were not the same. The workmanship on the threads that connect the four tubes that make up the vertical part of this lamp were so poor that it was impossible to get a tight fit of the tubes to the base of the lamp or to the top of the switch assembly in the middle of the lamp where the desk lamp is attached. As a result, the lamp has about a 7 degree tilt from vertical at the base and another 3 or 4 degrees in the middle of the lamp. If this lamp was priced at 1/3 of the price I paid, this would still be unacceptable. Add to this the time and effort necessary to return this item, and I would certainly not purchase it again or any other item from this manufacturer.

handy I like the 2nd light for reading.

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this lamp, as it is a little bit more expensive than most. Once we got it, we love this lamp and it does a great job lighting our living room without being too in our face. It is an amazing lamp and it looks nice too.

I liked this lamp very much. It's in my office and I use it daily. Works great! Was easy to assemble and I love the way you can dim both lamps. The only thing even a little off is the base. The base could have been a little larger.
