Cheap and doesn't work is the most expensive you thing you can buy, this grinder is the opposite expensive (for such a simple item) and really works well, this is the RR or Bently of grinders. First impression is it's rather large and heavy but above all it's well engineered, built to a principle not a price. The powder coating finish is a silky black, not matt not gloss - definitely chic Easy to grip with the knurled patterning (expensive to produce I'd guess) and twist and I have to say what an excellent grinder. The settings are easy to change, the grind is effortless and consistent and the pepper is produced in copious quantity, realeasing the aroma and bountiful taste. Theres a base cap too so the post grind detritus stays off the table - and it's sealed with an O ring to keep moisture out - nice design detail. Make a great gift for special friends too, as it's unlikely most won't have anything like this quality on their table.

I’ve been using this for just under a year now and am still extremely impressed. It’s a solid lump, easy to fill and has even survived a few falls, the tiled floor coming off worse in one incident 😄 As for function, it’s great. Many levels of coarseness adjustment and easy to twist, the twist resulting in a hefty amount of ground pepper being delivered. I mainly use this for making rubs for my smoked meats and it really saves time, with the added bonus that I managed to get the pepper grind size to match the crystal size of my preferred choice of salt brand. Highly recommended and although some may find it expensive, it’s much cheaper than the pepper cannon.

This is awesome. I've been using this for 4 months and it's by far the best pepper mill I've ever used. We previously were using a really popular old school pepper mill (all wood etc) and it was just more frustrating than anything to use. This you set it the grind and go, so much easier. It's easier to fill as well as it has two big open holes under the handle cap. High recommend!

Very well made mill which is obviously built to last. It very capable of grinding a wide range of sizes from very fine to coarse.

Excellent. Strong, handles well and grinds pepper easily. Adjustable from fine to coarse and several grades in between. Easy to refill. The perfect grinder and I have tried many. Will probably last a lifetime or two.

Almost too good...with only a hint of effort pepper is well and truly ground. After many frustrations with my old mill and an unwillingness to pay a premium price for a pepper mill, I finally capitulated...and frankly I was a fool for waiting so long. This is a joy to use, don't hesitate, its worth every penny and I knew it from the first moment. Really well made, absolutely kills it in performance, feels premium and backs up its claims. Worked very well for 2 weeks, but started to fail with the grinder spinning in the body. Took a few days to talk with Philip in China, but once he was on the case he got it sorted out very quickly. I now have an updated version, and its also a brilliant bit of kit. A Pepper Cannon for normal people. A truly powerful grinder that also looks good, and has an impressive throwing weight. Buy it.

Great grinder, the only slight downside is the slight blue tinge of the aluminium of the salt grinder. The pepper I'd give 5 stars.

Thing is built like a tank, high quality, grinds out salt incredibly fast, the end catch cup is great. Only thing I wish it had was a tighter fitting lid so you can't open the top so easily.

The finest grind is very fine. It grinds a lot of salt with each twist. Nice finish. I am using this for coarse salt. Ridges on top and main body help with grip while twisting which makes it easier to use. It is tall enough to hold a decent amount of salt, but short enough to not tip over, should fit on most shelves easily. The cup on the bottom has a white o-ring for retention and seal. If the o-ring is worn, the retention will likely weaken, but a replacement could be obtained from hardware store or amazon by measuring the old one. This is the part that is likely to fail first. Aluminum body is thick enough to be durable.

I originally purchased the Luvan pepper mill off Amazon, but was so impressed that I bought the salt grinder to match! Very high quality feel, and the grind speed is the best of any grinder I've used so far. As someone who loves home cooking and buying quality items, these fit the bill. Only comment is that the salt mill is has quite a strong blue tint in the gray colour, which was not entirely accurate to the listing photos. In addition, I reached out to Luvan prior to purchasing seeing if they sell spare parts, and was told they do not. I'm hoping that they last a lifetime, but should something break, it would be nice to have the option to buy replacement parts for a 65 Euro grinder.

This is the larger version of this salt grinder, intended for kitchen use. It is still the same beautiful, sleek design as the smaller, table top version, but it holds a larger amount of salt and has a removable cup on the bottom to catch the salt after you grind it. This removable cup makes it easy to grind a larger amount of salt and then measure what you need for cooking. This grinder also has multiple different grind sizes so you have the perfect size salt for any meal. Great design!
