I followed all the instructions. I went to flush the toilet, no blue water, flushed again, no blue water. I opened the tank, no blue water. So, I squeezed her and some of the blue stuff came out. Closed the tank. Flushed the toilet, got some blue water. Mission accomplished. Waited the entire day. Husband said, "What happened to the blue water?" I went and checked, blue water gone. Opened tank, had to squeeze her again. The blue stuff came out. She is useless. I'm going back to the jar of blue stuff.

I have had it around a week. It has been working as far as the water being blue. It hasn't gotten stuck in the flap yet. I don't notice any type of scent at all. I don't have any hard water stains in my toilet. Not sure why it says no scrubbing but on the back says doesn't replace weekly cleanings. It seems like more of a sanitizing thing.

I bought two of these for use in two separate toilets. One works great, the other causes continuous problems as it floats in the bowl.....often moving to prevent the flapper from closing and shutting off the water supply. Every time I flush, I have to remove the tank cover to make sure that this isn't impeding the closing of the flapper. Not sure what the problem is but I don't think these were designed to float.

The only thing is near the end of it's life it's not weighted so it goes buoyant like a goldfish and the remains pour out freely with each flush. Dark Blue. So, the end is kind of a waste, but interim it works great.

Do not believe the hype. This is a very bad product. The toxic blue coats the bowl. BUT: The design of the little mermaid is not good for the toilet. For me- The mermaid lodged inside the part of the toilet tank with the tube and rubber flap cover. How the little mermaid floated up and got inside is a mystery. This clog happened the second day I installed it. I am writing this as the plumber is currently trying to dislodge the little plastic mermaid out of the tank. This is going to be very expensive !!! :(

There is no pleasant scent that comes from the water due to the mermaid. In the first two weeks, the water is very blue and after that the water is very faint blue. Meaning she’s almost dead. Have I had to clean the toilet since using her? No surprisingly. But she’s definitely not worth the hype. There’s plenty of other cheaper objects out on the market that do far better in the long run than she does.
