Shiny Park Tools
A gift for someone who has spent decades using a screwdriver to do the job thus tool is for. Does he actually need this tool? Maybe not but it’s Park Tools so will not be a disappointing gift and is as durable and use gas the rest of their range of tools.

It's Park Tools
Park Tools price but Park Tools quality! Great item to have on hand during maintenance or "just in case" the brake lever is squeezed when a wheel is off the bike and no plastic shim is inserted in the caliper.

Great tool to spread straighten and align pistons
Since you are looking at this item, you clearly use disc brakes. If you use hydraulic brakes, you know that sometimes the pistons don't come out straight. They sometimes come out top first or just slightly slanted. This uneven application will cause uneven break pad wear and reduce the overall life of your brake pads since one side/edge will be worn out before the rest of the pad. This tool is great not only at spreading the pads and pistons without having to remove the brake pads. But it is fantastic at straightening the pistons if they don't come out evenly.Pros:- Good Value, priced about right for a simple tool- Good for spreading pads- Even better at straightening and aligning pistons- No need to remove brake pads for serviceCons:- The whole tool is the same thickness as a rotor, which is fairly thing. If you apply too much force, it will bend

If you have disk brakes on your bike sooner or later you will need it
Yeah, I know you always put the plastic spacer in as soon as you remove a wheel and/or you never grab the brake handle when the wheel is off. If that’s not always true this is the fix. Mine came with a dull area on the tool edge but a few soft passes with my knife sharpener straightened the edge. Not knife sharp to cut into the brake pad and won’t do damage like a screw driver, like so many good tools it works.
