Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales [DVD]

Ever since my 3 year old son saw this advertised he's been hassling me to get it for him. I ordered it and it came a couple of weeks ago - and its never been off our tv since. The format is good - short stories to keep even the easiest sidetracked boy interested and they are very funny. I know some other review have been negative, but me and my husband love them almost as much as my son. Its also nice that Mater is the star (my favourite character by far from Cars) and not Lightening McQueen - as most other film follow-ons would do. They are what they are - a cheap dvd which will keep the most talkative and curious toddler quiet for at least 30 minutes everyday - to me that's heaven. And yes I know that I've had to explain what some of the stories are about (Mater Private Eye) but so what if he doesnt get it - he's only 3, he still finds them funny, and so do I. So enjoy it, and here's hoping that Disney/Pixar produce some more, at 5 minutes a go, how hard can it be?????

I got this for my 2-year old son who loves the first 'Cars' movie, and gave it to him during a long car journey. He absolutely loved it, and watched it again and again! The DVD features Mater as the lead character in different 5-10 minute episodes. In each episode he experiences crazy adventures, but did they really happen or is it just a tall tale? I would recommend this DVD for little (and bigger) boys who are into Cars, it's a great spin-off, very entertaining and as the children get a bit older I'm sure they will appreciate the jokes more, so this is something that won't get boring for a while. We've had it for a couple of months now and my son still frequently asks to watch it.

I bought this cars toon bluray from the states as couldn't find it in the uk at a half decent price so i thought i'd give it a go and try it. When i mean give it ago i mean the blu-ray is region1 and my player is region 2 but with a little research on the web i unlocked the region code and it worked first time. It has a few ads but you can skip and go straight to play menu. My son kept shouting hurry up and he's only 3. We sat down and watch all of the different stories and we both loved it with my wife saying we both looked like a couple of kids. The graphics were very good and im sure glad i bought the bluray version. It's worth the money. I haven't tried the extras on the disk but im sure i'll get round to that soon enough. We watch the disk aleast 10 times a week so that tells you it's addictive. The stories themselves are very good for kids and big kids.

The grandchildren loved it. Being episodes, I could limit how much they watched at a time.

This DVD is a real success. Just like grandads "tall tales" of war memories, here is mater telling us some very tall tales of his life. Each one is about 5 or 6 minutes long, each one is very clever with the way they have used the names, and there are some real laugh at loud moments. My favourite is El Materador - a bull fight with bulldozers! I would wholeheartedly recommend this and if mine gets damaged I will buy it again.

Dvd arrived quick in good condition and disc played well

This is a great romp and is a must for all fans of Cars. Mater narrates one far-fetched story after another across a number of scenarios to a sceptical Lightning McQueen who keeps needing to be reminded that he was a participant too. My only complaint is the short duration of this DVD - 37 minutes. More episodes would have been better. A pity Pixar didn't make any more of them. But the ones included here are a real hoot. Definitely recommended.

The dvd case came broken apart with small bits of plastic loose in the parcel.

Ordered this for my son who was absolutely loves Mater and it did not disappoint. He is very impressed with flying Mater :)

Wish it was a bit longer but in our house have replayed the two cars movies too many time was happy to add another to the mix and it turns out my son loves this one asks to watch Mater. Its 35 mins of a few short skits but they are funny and there are other cars characters in it too. Would recommend to anyone who's kids are repeatedly watching cars movies.

C'est la continuité de Cars pour les adeptes de ce dessin animé. Des histoires courtes et rigolotes racontées par Martin dans des situations farfelues mais... qui pourraient finalement être véridiques ! Martin pourrait vraiment vous surprendre ! Dvd pour toute la famille et en plus, pratique. Les histoires ne durent pas longtemps, donc les enfants peuvent regarder le DVD en plusieurs fois. Je le recommande vraiment, on l'adore !
