I received this and it was broken straight out of the box. normally I would just put this down to bad luck, but on inspection, I can see that plastic join between the cable drum and the handle is a weak point in the design and any pressure applied here will cause a break. Coincidentally the box amazon shipped the unit in would not have been big enough to accommodate the device if it were intact.UPDATE: After originally reviewing this with 2 stars I was sent a replacement, this was intact on arrival and upon use did the job as expected. I've updated my score to 4 stars, but still stand by original comment about the potential weak point between drum and handle.

I thought this would be good, but was disappointed. When it arrived the small screw would not tighten into the handle- solved this with a larger screw.It was pushed about 3 metres down the toilet but did not clear the blockage, but some water did start to go down.When it was pulled back out it was all twisted with a kink in the wire, which means it will not rewind back into the holder.I then used a mop in a plastic bag as a suction to clear the blockage .I think it helped loosen the blockage,but did not clear it completely.It was a difficult blockage caused by several baby wipes being flushed down the toilet.Overall, I am satisfied that it helped me solve the problem - but I would not buy it again

I purchased this drain snake as a 7 metre product but in the instructions I read, when you have 3-4 metres left be sure to tighten the screw to prevent it falling into the pipe. The end stopper they had fitted was not present it did come out of the housing. I took it outside to clean and while it was straight I measured it and the snake is only six and a half metres long.Its saving grace was that it unblocked the drain

Bought this product to clear out my completely blocked kitchen drain. Had previously tried two well-known brands of gel drain unblockers, which both turned out to be a complete waste of time. First attempt at using this drain snake didn't quite get the job done, but that was more about me getting a feel for how to properly use it. It's pretty straight forward though, and worked like a dream at the second attempt. Outstanding value for money.

If there is one item that i will advise every household to gave, it is this auger. After unsuccessfully using the plunger and chemicals, this auger cleared the blocked pipe after one attempt! The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. I'm so glad that i have bought it. Five star all the way for me!

Amazing product ... my darling of a sun put a lid to a bubble bath bottle down the bath plug !!! ..... even a plumber has failed and said all new pipes. Bought this today, used it in 5 mins of being through the door ... clear!!!!!! ....Amazing!!!
