Great little tarp. Strongly recommend.
TLDR; Great value, strong, light, waterproof. Much better than I was expecting. I’ve been backpacking for 30 years, and have never carried a tarp into the woods to use as a secondary rainfly. I never thought the extra bulk would be worth it beyond what comes with my tent. I finally decided to go for it with this one because of its light weight and small storage size. I set it up in the Algonquin Highlands in Ontario, where my wife and I were spending a couple nights. Used it to cover our cooking area a few steps away from our tent. Set up was easy, and I can see the possibility for versatile angles and heights. I built this one high enough to walk under, so the low sides were suspended two or three feet off the ground, and the ridge line at like five or six feet high. So a big thunder storm comes through….very windy, but not quite a microburst. We dive into our tent, and im thinking there’s no way this tarp from Amazon is staying in place. Not only did it stay (both ridge line ties plus four stakes), but there was still a very distinct dry spot under the tarp. We could have sheltered under it and still stayed reasonably dry. This tarp definitely gets the award for hero of the trip.

Always Comes With Me
I bought this tarp with the intention of switching to hammock camping, and a tarp is necessary in the drizzly PNW. The first time I used it, however, was on a backpacking trip where I knew we would have a tent but thought I should bring it anyway, on a whim. We were caught in a downpour! Thankfully this was quick to set up (first time!) and allowed us to build a campfire (with enough clearance) and fit all three of us underneath to cook, eat, keep our packs dry, and play a game of UNO. A much less miserable trip! I took it on a solo hammock trip and it saved me once again. I had enough coverage for my hammock setup AND space to cook up my dinner, bone-dry. Woke up in the morning completely dry, the tarp covered the length of my hammock perfectly and with a nice view of the river below to wake up to. The guylines have good length, they worked wonderfully with trekking poles where trees were too spread out, and with some pre-planning, it's really quite simple to pack up in the morning. I use a ridgeline for extra support, but honestly it doesn't even need it with enough tension. The stitching looks solid, not only am I impressed, I have no concerns of ripping out the stitches when I tighten it up. Considering the price compared to other bigger brand names, I thought I would be sacrificing weight, but am pleasantly surprised at how light it is. The stakes are also super light yet quite sturdy, I wouldn't even switch them out, as a backpacker concerned with weight. A combination of durability, light-weight, and affordability is certainly hard to come by in outdoor products. I definitely recommend Wise Owl Outfitters to folks, friends and passing hikers have inquired about my tarp. The folks at Wise Owl even checked up on my purchase soon after I bought it to see if I was satisfied or had any questions. This business seems genuinely invested in providing affordable yet quality products. You can just tell this business is run by people who also love the outdoors. Plus, I like their logo and color options :)

High quality and easy to use
Super easy to use, and completely water proof. I went camping in mid fall in Colorado and it withstood a gully of rain and some pretty aggressive winds while being used as a tarp? So pretty versatile if you don’t have the things you need. It is durable and lightweight so easy to bring along on a short backpacking trip as well.

Great basic tarp at a decent price
I used this tarp for a week-long camping trip with my ENO Singlenest hammock. I had some difficulty setting it up as I did so in moderate wind as a storm was blowing in. I did get wet the first night I used it, but when I inspected everything in daylight, I realized this was due to not adjusting the tarp over my hammock correctly, letting rain fall directly on the exposed edge of my hammock. After adjusting, the tarp kept the rain off perfectly. The system they have for adding tension to the tarp works very well, but you will want to make sure that you pull the line through a bit and tie an overhand knot, otherwise the cord can slip out while you adjusting the tension. It’s not too difficult to reinsert the cord, but it is annoying when it slips out on you the first time. Each guy line gives ample length for a variety of configurations. I wish the cordage was made out of a lighter color, however, as I found it difficult to see in the dark. The tent stakes that were included are decent aluminum pegs, similar to MSR Groundhog pegs, though sadly not as robust. I managed to bend one peg as I was trying to push it in with my foot. The other three went in cleanly and the reflective strands in the pull loop kept me from tripping over the line in the dark more than once. I did have one tent peg come out of the ground on its own, but this was due to the soil it was inserted into being lose, rather than an issue with the peg. Overall I can recommend this product as a decent starter tarp for hammock camping. It’s not overly expensive and will give you a good entry point before dropping larger sums on other tarp options.

Great product, great price - easy choice.
I was headed out for a weekend and although I have slept in my hammock previously, there had never been a chance of rain - different story this time. Looked around a bit, but settled on the WiseOwl rain fly and boy am I glad. Friday was good weather, but as we sat around the fire nearing midnight, rolls of thunder and distant lightning began to light up the sky. Weather apps confirmed a pretty heavy cell headed our way….i took off for the set up you see in the pictures a little earlier than others and was safely under cover when the storm rolled through. Wise Owl preformed great throughout a pretty heavy downpour - no leaks, no trouble staying anchored through some stiff winds too. Easy set up, good metal stakes and the easily adjustable guy lines worked perfectly. I half expect to see others joining me in the trees next year! Great product, great price. Easy choice.

I bought this for my son's hammock setup and it worked perfectly. In fact, it works better than my tarp. Excellent coverage, easy setup, and the quality seems to be very good. I'm sure it will accompany us on many adventures.
