Tel-Tru BQ325R Big Green Egg, Primo, Komodo, Grill Dome, or Other Kamado-Style Replacement Thermometer, 3" dial with red and Black Zones, 3” stem, 150/750 Degrees F

This thing is big diameter and the colored zones makes it easy to read. I can read this from my kitchen window 15 feet away from my Primo XL. Very easy to calibrate as well.

The original thermometer was incredibly inaccurate and I needed to replace it for proper smoking. This thermometer has worked perfectly. As an added bonus, it is much easier to read and my old eyes need all of the help that they can get.

It does work great so far, able to replace my default PitBoss egg thermometer which got stuck after a year of smoking Briskets. Easy to see temps from far away.Cons: the stem was too skinny, not same as PitBoss ceramic egg. Had to use a mesh cloth to plug the entry so it would fit snug and not lose heat/smoke through the mount point

I have purchased three other ‘less expensive’ thermometers for my Big Green Egg Kamado smoker/grill. In about a year, they no longer provide an accurate temperature. I have two other smokers, and have replaced those with the Tel Tru as well. These last! And they are accurate. They do cost a little more, but with accuracy and longevity, buy once, cry once applies. I’ve spent a lot more replacing the others every year. The only thing more accurate is the high dollar electronic ones, at 5 times the cost of the Tel Tru. If buying for a Kamado, make sure you specify that, as the probes are thinner to fit in the dome. The probes are larger for other smokers.

The media could not be loaded.  This thermometer holds moisture horribly, which then causes the needle to stick to the glass and not move freely. The picture and video were taken four days after we had last had any rain, and it’s been hot and sunny ever since. There’s no reason this thing shouldn’t be completely dried out. Perhaps if your grill is constantly covered or under roof it might be ok, but if there’s any chance this thing could get wet, I’d heavily recommend looking elsewhere. This was a total waste of my time and money. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Sometimes I need to check the dome temp of my Big Green Egg from some distance. This unit is perfect for the quick verification of the temp so that I don't have to run outside to check. Well made, and appears to be VERY durable!

The are easy to read and very accurate.

Had such high hopes for this however the third time i used it, it stopped working. The temperature gauge needle is all over the dial now, randomly going from high to low, sometimes making a complete circle around the dial. Its easy to read and super easy to install.

Very responsive and looks good as a replacement for my primo xl
