A&A Tournament 3.75" King Height Plastic Quadruple Weighted Classic Staunton Pieces

I was a bit anxious waiting for this set to arrive as a few buyers had had a problem or two. But I ordered and the set came the next day. It was well packaged, the set was boxed inside, the carry case is very nice (although I probably won't use it much), the vinyl board - bigger than I expected and more flexible and soft than the one my puppy chewed to a million bits - the pieces were in two plastic bags, there were two other felt bags, stickers, an instruction booklet, a postcard and a message from the company about being satisfied - if not, an invitation to contact them was offered. I checked each piece including the base and it all looked and felt great. I love the colours, the matt finish, the weight, the design, the feel - ahh so important! - and 2 extra Queens too. My goodness, I thought I wanted 4" but 3.75" is tournament size and perfect, I thought I wanted wood but they are very expensive (and I am new to this anyway) but I am so pleased with this set at the price. I am not disappointed!

I was going to buy a "ultimate chess or best chess ever" but costing £100+ I opted for this set.When it arrived it was set up five minutes later. I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. The pieces although plastic are significantly weighted and free of any moulding seems. The colour of the white pieces is a more cream with a hint of biscuit, and the black ones are just that black. All with more of a satin finish so should be easier on the eyes. The silicone board is great it rolled out perfect and had no kinks or creases.The only slight negative point (so slight I nearly didn't mention it). The felt on the base seemed quite thin and I would of preferred it to cover the whole base.To sum this up. Would I recommend this set?You bet. ☆☆ JUST BUY IT☆☆

This is AMAZING value. The fact that this company has managed to produce and present this chess set at the price it is, is exceptional. The quality is very good. They could charge much more for this. Great carry case, great detailed pieces, great silicone board. Wish I could give this Chess set and company a rating of 6….. * note. I don’t write reviews unless very happy 😀 or very disappointed 🙁… YOU will not be disappointed.

Lovely portable set, though would serve equally well for home use.Everything here is lovely quality, the pieces, the case and (yes the board!) no problems with mine laying flat.However I think if your using your set occasionally, you may be best served rolling it while in storage.I'll be using mine for the local chess club and (hopefully) to play friends in cafes.I see in the reviews someone got theirs for £22, well should you see this at that price it would be a spectacular bargain.I paid £44 for mine which is still pretty sound for this imo.The pieces are the best part for me, classic styling that would look good on other boards as well, if you have them.Also, durable and you don't feel like you'll need to be overly protective if you want to take them out and about.Also, pleasingly the case houses everything super well, not fiddling about trying to get everything back into it when finished and you'll be able to travel with it in a medium sized bag.The pictures/description are all true to what you can expect if you order.Thank you.

Excellent, I wish the mat and pieces came in a tube instead of a box. I always feel worries to fold the mat as I am worried it will show creases or break over time. But the overall quality is amazing. Heavy and feel premium.

Quality, heavy, perfectly moulded, large chess pieces! I don't do or usually trust reviews but this was such a good set I had to join in with the reviews. Yes, a good plastic set with an off white but nice black matt finish and a solid heavy feel. I was pleasantly surprised, not sure if £45 was a bit much for heat resistant polystyrene or whatever it claims to be. The pieces fit the board fine which is also a quality rubbery washable almost full size mat. I saw a review that compared this set to a very similar set and I'm glad I did. Great moulding, hardly visible seams with no bits catching if you get me. The Ideal set to take tournament sized travels with. If this set is what you think it is, then it's better! The pieces feel good enough to play with on a wooden board with the felt bottoms too. Lol it's hard to not make this sound made up, I now get all the other reviews! Enjoy.

What's not to like, well the silicon board is very portable, and I plan to buy a better one for use at home, but the chess pieces are just fantastic.I had planned to buy this just for it's portability for a 'full size' set, and had every intention of later getting a nice wooden set for home use, but these pieces are really good and currently I have no plans to get a wooden set. The quality of the pieces is really impressive.I have no hesitation in recommending this set.

These are full size, weighted chess pieces made from high quality plastic. Though weighty, they feel closer to triple weighted rather than quadrupled. They have a somewhat matte finish as opposed to the more glossy look on some other chess pieces. The whites are a sort of off white, not the yellowish colour that I find ugly on some sets. Seams are almost invisible on the white pieces, a bit more visible on the blacks but at a normal viewing distance in natural light they look incredible.At the £22 I paid this set is easily worth it (£0.69/piece, nice). I'd be happy if I paid closer to double that.The knights are the star of the show as they look far better than even a £50 wooden set.

El juego es de buena calidad, el estuche para transportarlo es muy práctico, tiene dos bolsas de terciopelo para guardar las piezas, las cuales tienen buena apariencia y peso. El tablero es grande. La relación calidad-precio me parece correcta.

This is an excellent set. The pieces are nicely designed and molded, seam lines barely visible, and well weighted. They're a pleasure to move around the board. The board lies nice and flat and is easy to clean - it's silicone, so you can just wipe it off with a damp cloth. The set comes in a nice semi-hard case and each color has its own soft bag.Because it's relatively inexpensive and plastic, in my mind this is the perfect set to bring to a park or a club. I've brought mine with me and everyone who has used them has really enjoyed them. I also find the designs very aesthetically pleasing. The knight has a nice level of detail.Overall a very good set for the price, suitable for schools, clubs, parks, or just to have a full sized set you won't be scared to travel with.

I bought this because I was skeptical of the reviews I read. One raved about it and another claimed that the board wrinkled and would not flatten out. Well you can put me on the rave side of the controversy. The pieces are in a plastic I've never seen. It is not like vinyl and not like resin. It has a very nice tactile feel in the hand. The weight is substantial and the size is perfect in my opinion. The king measures 3.75" tall. And it has 2 extra queens included. I was a little skeptical that one review stated that casting seams were non existent. There are some casting seams but I had to examine the pieces with a jewelers loupe to find them. They have been scraped to the point of oblivion. I am very impressed. Part of the body of the pieces is hollow, I shined a strong light through them. The head or finial on most pieces is solid and the bases are solidly weighted. The board is verrry flexible silicone material and any wrinkles or folds shake right out. No folds remaining. I.was very concerned that they would stay in and cause lumps and lines where the folds were. NOPE. The board fits into the case folded in half then in thirds. It's about an exact fit. The case is very nice and sturdy. It has a double zip heavy duty zipper closing at the bottom.there are 2 velvet bags for the pieces that have draw string closures 1 black and 1 white. There is a pocket in the case that is suitable for a notebook or literature. My old plastic chess set is more than 50 years old and very "chinky" plastic. This is light years from that one. After seeing this one and thourughly examining it in detail, I ordered on for my granddaughter and her family. I'm looking forward to some long distance matches with her. If you are on the fence about buying this set rest assured its a beautiful set and board. It's set up to be very portable, take it to the park or to a friend's house or for tournament play. It's a very good deal, buy it.

J'ai analysé le marché, il est impossible pour ce prix là de trouver un meilleur rapport qualité prix.Les pièces sont d'une superbe qualité... le plateau en silicone aussi et la valise qui va avec aussi.C'est pas compliqué, c'est une tellement bon produit que nous en avons recommandé 3 pour l'école de ma fille car nous essayons d'initier les enfants aux échecs et entre un jeu scolaire à 30 euros avec des pièces "cheap" et ce jeu pour un peu plus de 10 euros de plus, il n'y a pas photo ... autant jouer avec un jeu de meilleure qualité, avec une housse de rangement de qualité.

Ajedrez muy chulo tiene eh una bolsa de cremallera de tela dura que realmente tienes whatsapp y que está muy chulo lo que pasa además dentro puedes llevar tanto las piezas de ajedrez que llevan doble dama por cierto como puedes llevar el tablero doblado que es que es verdad que cuando lo sacas fuera el tablero se queda perfecto no coge forma ni nada lo que pasa que yo lo compré para regalar y cuando lo regalé así que es cierto que el tablero es bastante grande y las piezas son grandes pesadas y la verdad es que tienen su plomo muy bien son piezas muy chulas muy bonitas grandes de resina pero es demasiado grande yo lo quería regalar a una persona para viajar y para llevar aquí acá y quiere algo más pequeño con lo cual al final lo devolví exactamente conforme me llegó y buscaré algo más pequeño similar si existiera el mismo 1.2 más pequeño no te entiendo una comprarlo a la persona de su regale le encantó y a mí me encantó pero lo veo un poco grande
