Magflap - Magnetic Letterbox/Mailbox Draught Excluder in Satin Black Finish **featured on BBC Radio 2** (Satin Black Magflap)

I have had this letter box draft excluder fitted for several months now and I can say that it works extremely well. It is very well made and solid. If you are fitting it to a door that is not absolutely flat (my door is and old oak door) it took a little bit of fidling to get the preload of the foam right so it opened and shut ok but that is the fault of my door not the product but just something to consider if fitting to and old door. The only reason I have given 4 stars rather than 5 is that for me it would have bene useful if the opening was slightly bigger as it is a little smaller that the cut out in my door. For future enhancement having a brown colour option would be good for older wooden doors.Overal and excellent quality products that I would definitely recommend.

For ages there was always a slight draft in the hall and even with the radiator going there was the draft until idiot me realised that the front door letter box was THE problem. I searched on Amazon for help and the help came in the name of Magflap. I bought two for each side of the front door and believe me when I say Magflap works. There's foam around the part that is next to the door, that foam insulates the letter box gap. I have to get another as delivery people tends to stick bulky items in through the letter box and doesn't ring the doorbell instead. The Magflap for the external side is broken due to these bulky items and this is why I need to replace. Apart from that I give Magflap A* A* A* A* A* an EXCELLENT product.

Overall, this looks like a very good product. However, whilst fitting it to the door, it suddenly came apart. At that point I noticed that one of the plastic bars that attach to the hinges had snapped off. Not really sure how it happened as I was following the instructions, but in any case I was left with an expensive letter box cover that was now useless. Not wanting to be out of pocket, I ended up drilling a hole in what was left of the hinge and threaded a nail through to form a make shift hinge. It 'kind of' works and I was able to attached it to the door. It doesn't keep out as much of the cold as it would had the hinge bar not of snapped off, but it still keeps out a fair bit.

This is my second mag flap. I have one on either side of my door. My postie thinks its fab as my letter box is at the bottom of the door and as it opens all the way flush to the door again, it makes it much easier on him.Being magnetic it seals up nicely so no nasty drafts.Very easy to fit, I only needed a screwdriver.I have the brass effect on the inside, and the black on the outside.

Only had this a couple of weeks, seems a good, solid cover so far. Post can still be safely delivered without any complaints from the postie! Reasonable draught exclusion too. It’s quite large- our letterbox is fairly narrow, so fitted over it. We didn’t allow for the raised bit around our l-box so ended up fitting this on the outside rather than inside & it’s working well. Well worth spending a bit extra as it’s a very decent cover.

This is a superb product, totally unique. Completely draught proof and blocks more of the noise from my busy road than my old brush and flap.I don't come home to letters stuck in the flap any more as it's so easy for the post lady to push them through.I had an issue with the fixing of my front letter plate to the uPVC door and the owner-inventor was happy to personally give me instructions which worked perfectly.I'm also really happy to have bought a product made in the UK by a small company
