Aqua tru carafe WOW! 🤯
This thing was a breeze to set up and the initial cycling of the filters I did 5 pitchers of water. Fast forward about an hour later I was ready to filter out my first true pitcher of drinking water. I am really picky about taste of water. Background: my tds meter on the tap water read about 264ppm when my first drinking pitcher got done I dipped my tds into the water 26ppm WOW that seems like a 99 percent reduction in all the bad stuff. I poured up a glass after I chilled the glass carafe down to fridge cold as I like cold water. I gulped the water down it was so delicious! Now onto the real test how does the water taste with my favorite cup of coffee? I first ran a water vinegar mix through the coffee maker to thouroughly clean it poured in my Aqua tru water I pushed go on 8 ounces added my usual sugar and stored it up. WOW the most delicious cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life! I have successfully done what I set out to do with this machine. No more bottled water coming into this house I have the freshest cleanest most pure water thanks to aqua tru the OG in the RO countertop business. Which of you didn’t know they developed the first ever RO with the aqua tru classic back in 2016. This machine has 4 stages of filtration it says the RO membrane is supposed to last 2 years I am thouroughly blown away with this simple machine and love that it has a glass carafe that came included. I am now an aqua tru customer for life.

Amazing tasting water!
I LOVE my Aquatru. I've had it for over a year now and it's still just as great now as it was when I bought it. The water tastes perfectly clean - everyone who tries water at my house comments on how good the water tastes. I love that it's helped me reduce plastic usage in my house - I've all but eliminated buying bottled water and frankly, this water tastes so much better than bottled water anyway! It was super easy to set up and it's been relatively easy to maintain. I say relatively because for a long time I couldn't get the change filter lights to reset even though I was following the directions (I had other people try too and had the same issue) but I recently figured out I need to hold the reset button while it's making water and that has solved this issue. Additionally, the lights staying on didn't impact the quality of my water, I just had to make sure I was following the right schedule for changing filters which was a slight inconvenience.I love that the carafes are glass rather than plastic and I purchased an additional one so that I can always have both cold and room temperature water available. Overall, this has been a wonderful product and I'm so glad I bought it!

Great High Quality Filter - Worth the Investment
Very happy with this product, after using simple "brita" filters over the years. I was concerned about refilling frequently but the pitcher produces about 1.5 liters of water in each cycle, which is great. I just keep a couple glass bottles in my fridge and fill them.

Works great *IF* you have a pitcher
The media could not be loaded. I am updating my review. I can no longer recommend the AquaTru carafe. I reached out to cs and let them know that cycles were no longer running when I refill the tank and put the carafe in place. I have to unplug and replug to get it to run a cycle. They said I need to descale the unit???? Nowhere on the product page does it say descaling is part of the maintenance. Also it says you should replace the RO filter when you descale. No way on earth am using a RO machine that I have to descale and replace the RO filter every 4 months. I would strongly advise against this machine. RO filter should last two years. I'm going back to my tried and true rkin zip filter. They wouldn't even fix this under warranty...which makes it terrible product support in my book.**********I have been using a tabletop RO system for the better part of a decade. I decided to get a new system because mine was old and full of hard water stains. I was drawn to this one because of the upfront cost, compact size and pitcher. My last unit was extremely reliable and worked great but one thing I hated was I had to basically collect the water in a bowl and transfer it to a pitcher because the spout was too close to the counter to fit anything underneath other than a highball glass. I also was attracted to the pitcher being glass because i just don’t like my water sitting in plastic.Pro’s1. Easy to set up2. The pitcher is very convenient to just grab fill up a glass, bottle, espresso machine etc.3. Works great at filtering water. RO systems are the best4. Easy to install/change filters5. Good upfront price6. Small footprint7. Glass storage8. Pitcher and tank is dishwasher safe. The tank came out discolored and I did get a faulty pitcher that cracked in the dishwasher. So maybe not?Cons1. Very lightweight and plastic-y2. No on/off button! It starts automatically and sometimes when there is still wastewater in the tank.3. You have to have the mfg pitcher in place (perfectly) in order for it to work period. It will not produce water without it and the lid has to be on perfectly with the bobber.4. The pitcher is glass and easily breakable with no plastic or silicone reinforcement to prevent it from breaking. I’m on my 3rd pitcher in 2 months and they take FOREVER to get a replacement. One cracked in the dishwasher which was covered under warranty and my cat knocked the other off the counter…crash5. Poor availability of replacement pitcher. Not available on mfgr website and it takes a month to get it on Amazon. This is unacceptable. Just look how many pitchers Amazon has sold this month.6. Not cost efficient due to pitcher easily breaking, low availability of a replacement and no alternate option7. You have to purchase the base slider separately. You can’t gain access to the water tank without this thing if you have it under a cabinet. It should be included or built into the machine.8. The water tank is hard to put back on the base and nothing locks/snaps it in place. You really have to push down on both sides evenly and hard to get it to stay and still it sometimes comes loose and falls backwards. I spill water constantly trying to get the tank on the base.9. The waste water collects in the same water tank as the fresh water and re-filtering waste water can prematurely kill your machine. Sometimes when I pull the pitcher out to fill up my glass and return it to the base, it will reset and start filtering the waste water. There is no way to stop this other than keeping the pitcher off the tray or removing and emptying the water tanks. There should be a better way to prevent this considering it can prematurely damage the machine.Overall, this is a nice little machine for the price. I don’t know that I would choose it again because of the shortfalls and the lack of availability and cost of the replacement pitcher. This is the reason for 3 stars. I am already looking for something else even though I have only had this for 2 months. I am currently using my old counter top unit because I don’t have a pitcher. Been waiting 3 weeks now on a replacement. Good thing I still have my old trusty RKIN unit.I couldn’t include any photos of the pitcher because I don’t have one! Waiting…impatiently… This could easily be fixed with the option of a plastic pitcher or a silicone or plastic mold that fits over the pitcher reinforcing it. I would prefer the latter.Wish list - better pitcher, on/off button, and some sort of guide or clip/snap to hold the tank in place.
