Hilarious
Sent it to my daughter who recently moved to Scotland. Lots of laughs but still a fantastic read.

Braw SCOTS translation!
This book is a brilliant translation of Harry Potter from English to it’s “sister language” Scots. Although these Germanic languages evolved alongside each other and are closely related, English speakers will have trouble understanding this book if they have no prior understanding of Scots as our language is phonetic and has unique vocabulary. This is not a book filled with badly spelt English or just English with an accent but is a recognised language in it’s own right spoken throughout Scotland. This translation is hilarious and filled with Scottish humour. A must read for Scots speakers or learners. This book has no relation to Gàidhlig which is a Celtic language from the Goidelic branch and is mostly spoken in some parts of the Highlands and Islands.

100% fantastic
This. Is. Amazing. I'm from Glasgow and grew up in South lanarkshire where a lot of the language is spoken is similar to what is in the book. It's a fantastic adaption of Harry Potter and reading it will have you crying with laughter. It just sounds so alien to read Harry Potter in slang, but it is absolutely worth it.Only problem is that I can't finish the book because I'm laughing so much and constantly phoning my mum and gran to read it out through the phone. It's just brilliant.

bought as a present
I bought this for my Harry Potter loving adult friend. She absolutely loved it. The book is quality expected of any book. The fact that it was in Scots added an extra bit of specialness to the gift and made it more unique.

Scots version of Harry Potter and the philosopher stone
I’m a Harry Potter fan and bought this book as I’m Scottish and wanted to see what it was like. I’ve got to admit I did recognise most of the words but there was quite a few I didn’t know. I can imagine a few people will struggle, other than that I enjoyed it.

Quirky - great book anyway but love this version
It’s a nice fun read - you find yourself having to read or speak out loud with the Scottish accent to catch the drift - some great phrasing.

Please note that this is a Scots Gaelic edition and not English Language
The book arrived quickly but I fell for the same thing that other customers mentioned. The book is in Scottish Gaelic. I assumed that the title “Scots Edition” meant just a type of edition from a particular printing house or like “first edition”. It is simply another language so that is totally my fault. I purchased the “English language edition” afterwards. Perhaps entitling the book “Scots Language Edition” would avoid many requests for refunds when customers received the book only to find they can’t understand it.
