Does the job brilliantly…!
Used this to ensure no leaks on my new waterfall made of pure dry stones to match my pond. I put two coats on and it works perfectly. As a precaution, try not to put too much on your brush, just do small amounts at a time. It hardens in about 1.5 hours and then add a second coat. To save on your brushes, once you have done a coat, place in a plastic bag, squeezing out the air and it can be used again later. Great stuff for sealing stonework also.

You may need more than you think
Very effective sealer but it doesn't go a long way. I used it to seal a concrete bird-bath which kept losing water (and flaking) through absorption. I covered the whole stand, not just the bowl to stop winter damage and used almost 500ml with the recommended four coats. The first coat soaks in and the rest build up to leave a high gloss finish. Great seal which should avoid further winter damage but the birds had trouble getting a grip on the smooth surface. A bit of roughing-up with a file did the trick (on the sealant, not the birds) This will do for any non-toxic sealing job and looks like it will last a long time. Recommended. Note, (Oct 2013), after six months in all weathers: The finish is unblemished and has weathered to a slightly darker shade. No flaking or blistering and the bird bath looks ready to face winter. So, very pleased with purchase.

Even works on rusty metal
After much searching I found this product which seemed the closest to sort out my problem. I had bought a metal rusty style fire pit from B&Q to use as a water feature. It was perfect in that I love the rust look in my garden. It consisted of a large bowl sitting on a matching stand. I set it all up but I found that because it was a rusty style the water went brown, and looked awful coming out of a fountain feature. Yes....I know.....I should have thought of that but I just put it down to a senior moment. Anyway I decided to try and 'line' the inside of the bowl with a waterproof coating of some sort. Took me ages to find anything but I plumped for this one which is especially for concrete garden ponds. One reviewer said she used it successfully on a container made of zinc. So I gave it a go. I gave the inside of the bowl a good sandpapering to smooth the surface and following the instructions on the container painted on four coats. Had to leave it for 72 hours to cure. I then filled it with water and to date. which is one week later. the water is still crystal clear. Hooray....problem solved!!! It does dry shiny as other reviewers have said but that doesn't matter for my purpose. Also I don't know if it has a brown tinge to it because the rusty look is brown anyway. It certainly doesn't look any different, just shiny. So.....my purpose of this review mainly is to let anyone know who is looking for a waterproofing product for metal.....this was perfect for me.

Not clear sealant.
I think the sealant is good as far as a sealant is concerned. However, it does dry a slight golden colour which changed the look of the bird bath I had painted.

It works.
I used this on my concrete bird bath which had started to leak after 15 years of service. Regular scrubbing had worn the surface away and made it porous. I followed the instructions. Cleaning it off and ensuring it was dry and dust free before I started. You need to brush 4 thin coats, about 1 to 11/2 hours apart. Too soon and it will still be tacky, too long between and the surface dries too much for the next to adhere properly. Leave it to prove for two or three days before filling it with water. It is best done outside because of the fumes but you need a dry day. Use a cheap brush, between coats wrap it in a poly bag and then dispose of it. It will set rock hard. I did it back in August and 4 months later it’s fine. Can’t say whether it will withstand the freezing over the coming winter but time will tell. I then decided to have a go at my previous bird bath. I had relegated it to being a garden ornament when I bought my current one because it had started to leak. At almost 40 years old it had deteriorated to such an extent that the sides had almost separated from the base and there was a hole at one point. Cleaned this one then started to repair it using a mixture of exterior polyfilla and PVA Bond. Gradually filling the hole and all the cracks and fissures over several days, using thin layers. Then covering inside and out with a smoothing surface. Once it was thoroughly dry I then used the sealant as before. I now have two working bird baths.

Great product for my bird bath
My husband gave me my bird bath for Christmas years ago and the concrete started leaking. 1 hour after filling it up it was empty and the birds were staring at me perched on the edges not looking very happy. I decided to go with this product thinking if it does not kill fish it will be safe for the birds. The other products also came in much larger quantity. We cleaned the bath and apply a generous coat et voilà ! The birds are happy again and I can enjoy watching them.

Seems to have worked on stone but pretty expensive
Used this to seal the inside of a traditional stone trough which we are using for a water feature. Seems to have done the trick with no visible seepage but it is a pretty expensive product.
