Great Knife at a Great Price!
I was impressed by this small knife which is excellent for cutting soft foods such as tomatoes. The knife is quite small and easy to handle, and the serrated edge is very sharp. Naturally I wouldn't recommend it in place of a Chef's knife, but it does a great job when you do need a small serrated knife. It's a bit too small for slicing bread, but works very well for small vegetables. The included sheath was a nice touch. The blade while stamped, appears well made and like other Komachi knives, has a colorful coating which among other things, makes the knife easy to find and identify.I gave this knife four stars instead of five because of the build quality, I wasn't all that impressed with the plastic handle. At the price though I think that the plastic handle is more than acceptable. Overall, i'd recommend this knive, and would say that it provides excellent value.

Great tomato knife
I wanted a knife that would cut tomatos, cucumbers, etc. into fine slices. This knife was very affordable, so I thought I'd try it. It does exactly what I wanted. I get nice thin slices. It's a great little knife for these items, light weight and you can't miss the color! Be sure to read the instructions so you don't scrub it with steel wool or anything abrasive. It comes with a holder that sits nicely in the drawer.

The Perfect Aim Sports ad is a ripoff.
This is NOT a six inch blade. It is the standard Komanchi 4 inch blade and the 4 inch blade is great. But if you want a six inch blade you won't get if from this outfit. The ad by The Perfect Aim Sports is a ripoff.

Stays Sharp Cuts Tomatos with ease
I have had this knife for three years now and use it often for cutting fresh tomatoes. I've used it with all sort of tomatoes - cherry tomatoes, to romas, to large ones fresh off the vine. It breaks through the skin with ease without crushing the tomato. The stand / sheath that it came with was nice but when I purchased a knife magnet I stopped using it.With 3.5 years of use it is still sharp and there are no rust spots.update 09/23/2009This weekend when I was using this knife I was again amzaed at how sharp it has remained. It slices through the skin with ease still after all these years of use.

Love the Pure Komachi 6 inch stainless steel tomato knife with serrated edge
This knife is the perfect size for most of the fruit and vegetable cutting jobs I do for cooking, so it is far more than a "tomato knife." It is a perfect size for my hand. The one we had before disappeared, perhaps it got tossed in the trash, so I tracked down a duplicate on line. I have several of the other Pure Komachi knives, and I enjoy using them as well and I love the colors.

Bought for a specific task, it performs perfectly!
I bake artisanal breads, that require scoring--knife slashes that rupture the dough's surface--before baking. These slashes allow the baking bread to expand (oven rise) in a preferred direction (usually up). The expanded slashes have a secondary payoff that is mostly aesthetic: making eye-pleasing patterns in the baked loaves' crusts. It takes an exceptionally sharp knife to cut raised dough cleanly. This knife is up to the task.
