Does it cut through brambles? The bane of my life!

It might but I suspect the plastic cord would wear out really fast and you would be constantly paying out more cord. Brambles are best cut with a petrol hedge cutter I think, or a manual lopper.

Easy Line Loading, is it cartridge line?

Yes it's cartridge loading. Have to stop every 5mins to pull new line thru as the line breaks very easily have looked for stronger line but doesn't appear to be any for this model.
