The Historia of the Amazons: The Beginning
Back in 1941, amidst WWII, William Marston created the DC Comics Superhero Wonder Woman.Over 80 years on, Wonder Woman has been saving the day in comics, on TV, and on film. But no one has mentioned the story of Diana's people, the Amazons, until 2021.Referencing Greek and Roman mythology and featuring gorgeous art by Phil Jimenez, Kelly Sue DeConnick has written Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons, a new saga chronicling the history of Wonder Woman's people.Refusing to see women denied justice, six powerful Goddesses secretly create the Amazons. With each warrior wearing a unique suit of armor and armed with deadly weapons, the Amazons brave the ancient world to rescue women from slavery, and in the process meet a midwife's assistant named Hippolyta.Published in celebration of Wonder Woman's 80th anniversary, Historia: The Amazons is guaranteed to please fans old and young.

The story is fantastic but the scanning is pretty poor
The overall story and mythology behind the Amazons are great. I love the new take on their origins, and the design for each of the Amazons is incredible. However, the scanning of the pages is really poor in some places. In some panels, it was hard to see what exactly I was supposed to be looking at.

The Art! The Mythic takes…
I’m in awe and while these takes on the immortals aren’t necessarily the aspects I love, there’s so much obvious research and cross culture synthesis that I’m deeply impressed.Seriously, you won’t regret this.

A masterpiece of art and a magnificent legend worthy of the goddess
One of the most brilliant collaborations of storytelling through word and picture that I have ever seen. Although i am sure the print version is breathtaking, i found the guided version of the Kindle essential to understanding the artist's daring vision in panels that explode with color and detail and the depth of Greek mythology.

Terrible scan. Great story and art.
My 2 star review isn't for the story and art: those are magnificent. It's for the terrible scan to the Kindle. When reading it panel by panel the art is the same quality as a 240p video. Some of the pages are better but overall this is one of the worst scans of a comic book I have ever seen.

Such a powerful and impactful story
Wonder Woman Historia The Amazons is such a powerful and impactful story with breathtaking artwork. I read it all in one night because I couldn't set the book down and I had to know their story. I highly recommend to any comic book fan especially those who love Wonder Woman.

Must read for Wonder Woman fans.
-Non Spoiler Review-This is a collection of the first three issues of Historia: The Amazons, it is a new original telling of the Amazon's origins and therefore Diana's as well. The artwork and story is fantastic with my favourite book being the third (the issues are called books in this volume). The volume starts off a little hard to follow however it picks up in the second half of the first volume and doesn't stop.It starts out with displaying the injustice woman face in ancient Greece and the Goddesses have taken notice and decided to take action. Which leads them to createing the Amazons, however Hera Queen of Gods isn't present...There is one negative I have however, it's nothing to do with the comic itself but instead the scan of the book. In the first photo I linked there is a lighting bolt but if you look closer you can see there's a clear line along and across the bolt that shouldn't be there, and there are also smudges along the white margins of the comic throughout not on every page but it is noticeable.I recommend purchasing the digital edition of this volume instead of physical if scanning errors are a big deal to you as it is a very well thought-out and executed story with such amazing art, I mean just look at it!

A very beautiful graphic novel
Wonder Woman's native tribe of Amazons is given A LOT of characterization and many secondary characters get their five minutes under the spotlight. This graphic novel is split into three episodes, each drawn from a different artist.

Interesante edicion y contenido pero......
Al principio y el final son interesantes pero el nudo le falto algo mas, falta de consecuencias y algunas diseño de las diosas( muy pocas) no son buenos.

Beautifull but weird
Beautifull and phenomenal art. Colors That are breath taking. " But " a very unconventionnal story, and storytelling. Bought it out of curiosity and the fact that I love wonder woman. Weird ambiance in the book. You feel very dreamy and out of focus reading it. I read from another review that the image quality in the Kindle version was so so, and in fact it is à bit disapointing. Dont know if I Will buy volume 2 .....still need to digest this one.
