When the Movie Masters line for Man of Steel was released, it only had three figures: Superman, General Zod and armored Jor-El. From the three, Jor-El's looked to be the better of the bunch, though Superman's was really good too. The poorest of the line was Zod's, since it was the non-armored version with no facial hair, which means it only corresponded to one scene in the movie, one of the earliest ones in which Zod is in shackles. Along came wave 2 of the figures, rendering Superman and Zod's previous figures moot. Superman's because it was the exact same figure but with an extra accessory, and Zod more so because two more figures for him were released. One identical to the former except because it included the shackles, which made the figure more appropiate for the film and the other one has the armor and goatee Zod wears for the majority of the film. This is that figure, and it's AMAZING. In fact, it's probably the best figure in the entire line. Let's start with Zod's head sculpture. It's much better than the other one, which only marginally looked like Shannon. This one is not just the same head sculpture with a goatee added, it's an entirely different one, more detailed and more accurate. The cape is also really cool. It's not just the same as Superman's but in a different color. It's a completely different one which shows tears and a better pose. Also, unlike the one in Superman's figure, this one doesn't hinder Zod's ability to stand. I don't know if it's because it's lighter, because the rest of the figure is bulkier or both, but you will not have problems making this figure stand. The best part, though, is the armor. It's incredibly detailed and perfectly true to the one in the movie. The paint job on it makes it look like brushed metal, which is really cool. And you can see the Superman-style meshed suit underneath it (the same suit he has in the other figures). They really didn't skimp on details. If there's one small gripe I have about the armor is that it hinders the figure's articulation in some parts. It's not a big deal, and it's most likely true for the actual Zod, but it diminishes the figure's posing possibilities. The figure comes, like the previous ones, with a standing base, which is not necessary for this one since the cape actually helps the figure to easily stand. And it also includes a cool-looking semi-transparent helmet, like the one in the film. The helmet is really detailed and, just like with the rest of the armor, you can appreciate the H. R. Geiger influence on its design. The helmet applies to the head very easily and it won't fall off. So, in short, this is a fantastic figure that everyone should have, even if you don't care for Superman or Man of Steel, this figure shouldn't be out of your collection, because it will look great everywhere.

General Zod with Kryptonian armor Thanks to Amazon for making it available in India Mattel has done great job in sculpting michael shannon's likeness. He's little taller than my movie masters superman. This figure has 25 point articulation so more posing options It reached me in time

This is an awesome figure of General Zod with his Kryptonian Armor. I think it has quite a good likeness to Michael Shannon. He has a good amount of articulation, although in some parts the armor hinders the range of movement, like at the hips and shoulders. It would have been nice if maybe those parts of the armor were made of a softer rubber. But despite that it's still a great figure. I really like how the armor looks, the way it's painted to look kind of scratched and worn. The cape looks great as well with the folds, and it's even kind of tattered at the very bottom. You can see his undersuit under the armor as well. He comes with a display base with his crest on it, as well as his helmet that he wears in the movie. He looks great with it both on and off. It would be nice if his cape was removable, but that's no big deal. Overall this is a really great looking figure. He looks great standing next to the Faora figure. I would definitely recommend adding this to your collection.

Pros: Great sculpting Great paint job. Like other reviewers, I love the metallic brushed metal effect. His helmet is amazing and adds a great visual option to displaying the figure. Cons: Like the other Movie Masters Man of Steel figures I've gotten, the base is kind of worthless. It's not big enough for him to stand on, and the peg doesn't fit the holes in his feet well. Between the cape and his pauldrons (shoulder armor), his arm mobility is limited. His knee mobility is practically non-existent because of his knee armor. I'm an action figure collector. I keep most of my figures in the boxes, but I ripped him out of the package as soon as I got him because he's so cool!
