A pro-Snowden perspective on the history of an epic whistle-blower's voyage.
I bought two books hoping to get a balanced perspective on "The Edward Snowden Affair." "The Snowden Files" by Luke Harding was the other one. While the perspectives between the two weren't very different, this one seemed to be better written from the organizational point of view and thus an "easier" read. Both books were quite "pro-Snowden," and perhaps I should get a contrary view, but they both confirmed my existing biases and distrust for the federal government so I am in no rush to do so unless someone can recommend a well-written and honest alternative.

The author gives us a thorough understanding of how Edward Snowden came to take the actions he did. By presenting the facts, with much research to back up his claims, Mike Gurnow gives a clear picture of the circumstances and the situation that Snowden found himself in, and what was happening in the world around him. I appreciated the author's academic writing and definitive explanations.

it was a hard read, because it was so technical, but it certainly was a subject that was interesting and a story that neededto be told.

A bit disappointing for me.
Unfortunately for me it was too much nitty gritty detail on the "system" and not as much about Edward himself on a more personal level. I would have preferred that. This was a hard read because of all that detail and I found myself skimming more than reading. The movie was much better.

The Edward Snowden Affair
This is an excellent book. The author did a great job informing the public. Some of his information I surely did not know anything about.

Good book that covers the main aspects of the whole affair. There was a lot of detail in this book that I'd missed in the media and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
