Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2

Opportunity abounds
My 5 year old grand daughter is drawn to the pictures of the women in the books. They peak curiosity. When she finds a picture she likes she wants to hear the story about the person. The stories are short but they seem to open her mind to possibilities. I keep the book visible on the coffee table and she has never tired of looking through it

Every little girl should read this book.
My 8 year old daughter received the first book as a birthday gift and read through it very quickly. She requested the second book and devoured that too. Great book for building little girls up and showing them they can be whatever they want when they grow up!

Racing a powerful little girl
I gave book 1 to my 10 year old a few months back and she got encouraged by the amazing stories on this book. She used to get very upset when not winning a little kids bike ride competition or when she wasn't able to perform any skill perhaps. We read 2 stories every night at bed time and god have mercy!! She is now motivated to try and try and try again until perfecting anything she is trying to accomplish. I ordered this book for her 10th birthday and I can't wait to see what an amazing impact this literature will have on her character.

perfect gift
My granddaughter loved the 1st book so much I knew this would be a no-brainer gift for this year. My daughter & she read 2 stories a night & discussed the featured women.

Very good book, although the 1st is way way better
The book is good in general. The writing is not as good as the first one. And a lot of the chosen ones are not as great and the first one. But, is worth reading for sure.

Beautiful Book with Affirming Message
I bought this as a gift for my seven-year-old after the first volume became the only book she wanted to read at bedtime. The book itself is well made (I love the map!), and the illustrations are beautiful. If you are looking for an alternative to fairy tales and damsels in distress, this is the book for you. It is educational for me as well!

Empowering women empowering young women
This book is amazing. Like beyond any expectations I had prepurchase. So many amazing women, doing incredible things. The stories are short and good for any age, it is written very maturely. It's not "Beyoncé is a girl. She sings on stage." It's very descriptive and educational but it includes a glossary for terms you/your child may be unsure about. Can't rave about this enough.

Love this series
My 7 year old and I love the original Rebel Girls, so we got the sequel. I do find this one is for a more mature audience though and find myself having to censor or reframe some of the stories because they are too violent for her current age

Lovely book for little girls! (and not only)
Great short stories about important female role-models. Super for starting a discussion on the topic and build the interest!

More of the same good stuff
This is a continuation of the same winning formula of full page illustration plus accessible short biography showcasing notable women from around the world and through most of human history. It rectifies some of the most obvious omissions from the original by telling the stories of modern success stories like JK Rowling, Madonna, Beyonce, Ellen, Oprah and Angela Merkel. It introduces a wide range of women that you may not have heard about before, such as Temple Grandin (the professor/livestock engineer with autism), as well as many women who are already well known, from Nefertiti and Mata Hari to Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Mary Seacole, Rosalind Franklin, and Steffi Graf. There is an even greater diversity of stories, and the same engaging style that my 9 year olds loved. There are quite a slew of books telling the stories of women that have come out of the last year or two, but as well as defining the genre, Rebel Girls has both the visual style and well-pitched and engaging narrative content that many of them lack. If you liked the first book, then this volume is a sequel you will probably likewise enjoy.

Great illustrations and good information on women from various arenas
We were gifted Book 1 and my daughter loved it. Had been vying Book 2 for a long long time but it seemed very expensive. The price was lowered around Rakhi and we got it for her as a present. She was delighted as much as with Book 1. Informative, wide selection and good art: this book is a full package.
