A Very Good Biography
Robert Kennedy by Evan Thomas is a very good book exploring the life of, perhaps, the most human of the Kennedys. This was an individual who had a reputation as a ruthless political operator, but yet, was also a man of strong sympathies and emotions, who could empathize with the underdog and the downtrodden.Kennedy was not a natural politician, but had been forced by tragedy to assume the mantle of his brother's legacy and take a leading role in the Democratic Party, and at the time of his death was inspiring crowds and winning votes. He may not have been the nominee in 1968, but his assassination robbed American politics of an influential figure, and left forever, one of the great what ifs.The book itself is well-written and informative, if a little sympathetic to its subject. Overall, a very good biography.

A really intersting read
I enjoyed this book very much! I have a real interest in the Kennedy legacy and read this after reading An Unfinished Life by Robert Dallek. It is a good book to follow on from that to see things from the other brothers perspective! It is a thoroughly well researched book that really gives an insight into Bobby personally and professionally! the book ends so suddenly but then so did his life and it leaves you wanting more and with the emptiness that his loss created. A must read for any Kennedy fan.

Absolutely fascinating. It avoids the traps of over-sensationalising or over-focusing on his brother or his brother's death. It is clearly well-researched and the writer treats his subject even-handedly - it's not sycophantic or a hatchet job. RFK is a really interesting person and the writer captures the balances RFK had to fight with all his life. I would go as far as to say it's a must-read.

Delivered in “new” condition?
I’m excited to read this book, however I must confess to be disappointed in the condition it had been delivered. It is warped down the centre with a number of pages crinkled and tapered edges on the front cover. The quality of the book cover is surprising also, it feels thin and grainy, not the best quality. Such a shame

Excellent portrait of a complex personality
Evan's biography of Robert "Bobby" Kennedy is a well-written and well-researched book that gives a fascinating portrait of the complex personality of the "little brother" of the Kennedy clan. It is a human portrait, of virtues and flaws of a man of whom perhaps not much was expected in terms of public limelight/service, and perhaps because of that reason emerged from the shadows of his brothers more as an individual, emotional human being. The book offers an interesting history of especially 1960s politics.Robert Kennedy's life was cut short, and we do not know what kind of a president he would have made. The book ends at the Los Angeles hotel restaurant kitchen floor. It might have been an interesting final chapter to try to evaluate Bobby Kennedy's life and times, and his "legacy", on the basis of the history books and biographies since written.

This is the best biography, if not book, I have ever read. I could not put it down. A very impartial and researched book on a very deep and enigmatic soul.
