Awkward shape but it does the job very well
On a recent cruise in the Caribbean, we were expecting to spend several of our shore days relaxing on beaches. The problem with that always arises when you want to go in to the water and have to leave your belongings on the beach. You either have to ask someone nearby to keep an eye on your belongings or just hope for the best - neither of which seemed ideal - and for this reason, I investigated security solutions. For us, the main items we wanted to be able to secure were my camera, our phones, and wallets containing credit cards and cash. So, it had to be large enough to contain all these but also reasonably light and compact (as we were flying to Barbados to join the cruise). My reasearches quickly led me to the Pacsafe bags, which seemed the best overall. After that the difficulty was deciding between the different sizes. Unfortunately, most of the guides online showed the bag with an iPad or small laptop, which left little room for anything else but fortunately I found one review that showed the 5 litre bag with a small DSLR and some other items, so this seemed to be the one to go for.My camera is a smallish mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (Canon M6 Mark ii, with the optional EVF mounted on top) and an 18-150mm lens attached. I was able to fit this, a second smaller lens, plus phones, wallets etc. very easily, so clearly I'd chosen the right size. In fact, we could easily have fitted in a lot more smaller items too.The problem with these bags is the shape. It's basically a flat bag so if you put in something bulky, like a camera, the two sides flex round it but of course reduce the overall width. So, if you had a laptop that just fitted, you wouldn't also get a bulky item in at the same time. The other issue is the way it closes: the open end scrunches up like a duffle bag, so the full internal width isn't available at that end once you've closed it.As for security, I think it does what it's supposed to - that is, it would be hard to break into quickly without some heavy duty tools so is more than enough to deter most thieves. Some people have commented unfavourably on the padlock but I felt it seemed pretty good and I certainly had no problems with it.Anyway, overall, it's an inconvenient shape, especially when closed, but does the job it's designed for very well.

Excellent quality, good security, almost pointless purchase...
Purchased for a beach holiday. Used it on first day only as it's a PITA messing around with it all the time. In reality, if your taking valuable to the beach or a poolside then you need to have a think why and is it necessary. Leave your valuables in the room and relax. Your meant to be relaxing...However it does do a good job at securing small items. You just need something to secure it to?!?!?

Secure and easy to use
I purchased this for a holiday that I knew there was no safe in the room and wanted somewhere to keep my family’s valuables secure and hidden away.In the 5 litre Pacsafe I fitted in: An Ipad, travel documents, 6 passports, 4 mobile phones, and 2 wallets! The capacity and usefulness was impressive!Particularly effective is the locking mechanism which was easy to work out how to use and the padlock included is excellent.I used the long security cable to secure it to the metal bed frame and then hide the bag under the bed.

Very safe
Been using this on holiday at the beach this week and it’s been fantastic. It can also be locked in the boot on the boot hinge. I sometimes struggle with the padlock being round the wrong way with me being left handed but minor compared to feeling safe enough to leave valuables behind while I go swimming or leave them in the car

Great value for peace of mind.
It really is good value for peace of mind.Just be very careful when setting the new number on the lock. Don't lock it first time on the bag... i did, now I can get the lock off. The numbers must have turned in my hand movement. Arrgh. Yes, anyway the contents are safe. Even from me.

Sturdy and good for holidays
Use for putting valuables when by the pool or leaving a sun bed for a few minutes. Seems very sturdy and would certainly deter a casual thief. Not sure if a professional thief would eventually get in, but would certainly take them a long while to access, if at all.As others have done, I changed from a 3 digit lock to 4 digit

Pacsafe
Excellent product, once I worked out how it worked. Used on holiday for 3 mobiles, a 10" tablet, 3 purses and 2 iPods!!!. This surprisingly held it all!! In hotel room, on beach, at the pools, bars and amphitheatre also eating out. Loved it. People kept commenting on how useful it is. Don't know how I did without this item. Definately recommend
