Useless Garlic squeezes back past plunger

A traditional and sturdy garlic press. Unfortunately the whole clove doesn't get pressed as some gets squeezed out of the side. The press arrived on time and as described.

Don't know if I am trying to crush too moch at once but bits come up over the press, however, it's a nice piece of kitchen equipment

Bought from elsewhere. Been a fan of Sabatier Kitchen knives for years so saw this when needed new garlic press and bought it. Over half of the clove oozes up around the sides of the press and out of the top, when you lift the handle the separate unit with holes in comes out with it. Very messy Gallic crusher (as that's what it does) little actually goes through the holes. Very disappointed in Sabatier for this, obviously wasn't made by someone who actually uses these devices in the kitchen unlike their knives.Wouldn't recommend at all.

An absolute pleasure to use

Got it to match some other utensils in same range but unfortunately the press does not line up accurately or sits properly on the socket where you put the cloves so they do not get fully pressed and also squash out from sides, it is made of quality materials and has a good weight but not very good to use.

Like it overall, however slices of garlic slip through the jaws!
