Essex Orange Fix-a-Tap Tap Fitting Kit for 1/2" Taps - for Ceramic Wash Hand Basin. Fits Two Separate Taps

Have used these in a care home setting for years now as they are the best and easiest cure for taps turning on the sink or bath. They are well thought out in design and are simple to use – no matter how much abuse the taps get they stay put , even those with long levers.They are expensive for what they are but I am happy to pay for the peace of mind and knowing that I wont have to be going back to sort out taps that have come loose on the sink.

What an amazingly useful and easy to use product this is.Essentially it consists of a rubber centering washer that sits between the tap and the basin (at the top of the basin) and then a rubber washer and a brass washer that sits underneath the basin between the tap and the basin. You then use the locking nut (and washer if applicable) that came with the tap to lock the tap in place.I guess it's possible, if you are DIY savvy, to use an alternative and cheaper system comprising a centering washer.For people like me who are not DIY savvy this kit really is a small miracle - a joy to use in terms of providing a very professional looking and professional feeling end result. It really does keep the tap nicely and firmly in place whilst providing a reasonable size rubber seal between the tap and the basic so that nuisance leak back water isn't a problem. The rubber seal is white so matches nicely the colour of a white ceramic - if it does jut out slightly from the base of the tap you will hardly notice it.The 1/2" kit is suitable for most ceramic wash basins and wash basin taps - the 3/4" kit is for baths/mixer taps.I would have struggled to do such a good job without this kit.I just wish the price was a little lower but, even so, it is worth every penny in terms of end result.

This kit easily fixes the taps centrally in place in the wash basin holes without the need to use sealant.

Installed two new taps using washers supplied with the taps - issues with centering and water leaking under tap washers.......then found Essex fix a tap. Super kit, easy centering, zero leaks, no chance of moving, and no need to hold the tap whilst tightening back nut. Perfect.

Works well and comprehensive kit to secure and make watertight an over-sized hole.Bit pricey for what it is?
