This purchase got us heated…
Literally! We like to have our house on the colder side and this has been perfect for keeping our bearded dragons temperatures where they need to be at night without disrupting the light cycle

Burned out after only a few weeks
I’m a huge fan of Arcadia Reptiles products, I use all their supplements and UVB bulbs and several of my vivs have their UVB and LED fixtures as well. I even got their lights, fixtures and supplements for all the herp vivs at the nature center I work at. I purchased a 50W deep heat projector directly from their US online store Light Your Reptiles) back in August of 2020. It lasted me all the way up until April of this year (2023)! Amazing!! So of course I wanted to get another. I discovered they were on Amazon as well and decided that would be the quickest way to get it. It arrived in early April and I put it in as soon as it came. Today I just noticed the my leopard gecko basking in a strange spot, I felt the fixture and it was cold. Thinking it must be something with the outlet, light timer or I accidentally switched it off I began investigating those things. They were all as they should be, so I thought maybe the fixture stopped working, put a ceramic heat bulb in and nope, it worked just fine. This bulb actually went out after only a little over a month! Idk if it’s just the Amazon stock of these or I just got a faulty one or what but it’s the same fixture the other one was in for nearly 3 years, I got the 50W dhp and it says it can handle anything under 60W so it should’ve been fine. I will just try to get one from Reptile Basics I guess. Hopefully I can at least get a refund for this one

Broken
It was broken when it arrived. I ordered another, so hopefully I can update this.

Wrong Voltage/Frequency for US customers
US customer, received a 220V 50Hz DHP. If your DHP is not producing heat (don’t base your check on visible light, this shouldn’t make much/any!), check the back of the box and make sure the voltage and frequency are correct for your locale.I’m sure this DHP works just fine given Arcadia tends towards high quality but I’ll have to source it from elsewhere.

Wrong voltage for US market
I couldn't figure out why my bulb didn't seem to heat up. Well, after seeing another reviewer with the same issue, I checked the voltage listed on the bulb. Its stamped as 220-240V for the European market, not 120V for US. No wonder it doesn't work. Very disappointed that I was sent the wrong item. I already threw away the box so I can't return it. Buy your Arcadia bulbs elsewhere, its not the fault of the manufacturer, its Amazon's co-mingled inventory.

Thought it was broken because it didn't emit light
I had initially thought it was broken because I expected it to emit light without realizing it doesn't do that.

Short lived
It only lasted 1 month with a thermostat not impressed at all!
