BetterPress Compliant!!
Lowers the cost point of using my BetterPress machine. Using this cut to the right size is much more cost-effective and the result is the same if not better of what is recommended by the makers of the Betterpress machine. Great quality, saves money as a crafter.

It is what it is...
Lets get the negative out of the way first…Yes, as other people have pointed out, it is a blue gray color. As you can see in my last photo, this mutes the watercolors and makes them darker. Also the texture is not as pictured. IDK where they got those photos, but the paper I got looks like it was run through a colander style roller with small round divots in a regular pattern on one side and it is smooth on the other. This is good paper for playing and experimenting with but I don’t think this would be good for beginner Watercolor because of the color problem. (This paper is Not white)Art Whale makes a good affordable beginner WC paper. Very white and it is cotton. Also, Walmart has a little Prang ‘mixed media’ book for around $3 and a pad of 30 Grumbacher Watercolor paper full sheets for under $10 that would be better for beginners. Now for the positives…I paid less then 12 cents a sheet for this and it is worth it to me. I will use this paper for watercolor practice and craft projects. I see the same product under different brand names and the price fluctuates. So, shop around for the best price.Product says it is “8 x 12 inches”… True size (8 1/4" x 11 11/16”) or (9 1/2 cm x 21 cm).The paper is thin (about 90lb), and buckles a bit when water is applied but then lays back down reasonably flat when dry. In one place I scrubbed heavily on one spot, as shown in my first photo, and the paper did not pill up or have any problems with disintegrating.I made some experimental watercolor ground using cheap Walmart gesso and baking soda. The baking soda makes the gesso gritty but it seems to work fine. (TBF I’ve never used real WC ground so I don’t have a comparison) The more baking soda you add, the more the watercolor diffuses or moves. It also takes longer to dry, which is why I thought it was chalky and rubbing off. It stopped doing that when it was completely dry.Another thing I think might work well for this paper is to use Casien as an under painting and then over panting it with Gouache. As I go I will tear the sheets in half and fold the halves over. This gives me 8 small pages to work with. When I am done I will sew them into a ‘sketch’ book / junk journal and watercolor swatching scrapbook / and-or ideas diary with other random papers I have done this with.I see this paper as good- cheep- fun.

Not quality watercolor paper
I bought this paper expecting to use it for watercolor. It does not stand up to water it is too thin. Also it has a weird lavender color which is unexceptable. The only thing it can be used for is perhaps for drawing or crafts. I just purchased another watercolor paper by the same company that is quite nice, 80 sheets, 140 lb. cold press., very good quality paper.

Use for Practice
The paper is not white. It’s a gray/lavender color. I use it for new paint and new brush practice sheets. Works fine for that. Would be a good paper for beginners to learn techniques and how their materials work before using more expensive paper to create art on. Excellent for children’s use. Not recommended for work you want to keep or sell.

Its not white
I bought this to use for watercolor. Its a thin paper. The color is gray not white or even cream colored. I took a photo of a 5 by 7 watercolor paper on it and you can see the color difference . I’ll keep it for drawing but not watercolor.
