Convenient and Easy to Store
The Black Hut Cuttlefish Squid Ink Powder is a fantastic alternative to the liquid version. It’s much easier to use—no mess, no hassle, and you can measure out exactly how much you need without worrying about waste. It dissolves smoothly into sauces, pastas, and risottos, giving you that rich, briny flavor with less effort.Another big plus is how easy it is to store. The powder takes up very little space and has a longer shelf life compared to liquid squid ink. If you love cooking with squid ink but want something more convenient, this is a perfect choice!

Great food dye
It worked exactly as i intended it for. I blacked some pizza dough so we could have black Halloween pizzas. After the toppings and it was baked there was no squid taste.

Pack of 3 ended up being Pack of 1 with no extras
Purchased the Pack of 3, and recieves only the 1 Packet, with nothing else.If I had known I'd receive only the single packet, I would have purchased only a single packet.

Ok
I’m using this as sumo-e ink for gyotako printing. It works alright.. not a lot of waste because I can rehydrate it. But it does smell really funky. It’s supposed to be a food item, but I wouldn’t get past the smell if I put it into food or a beverage.

Used this to make marbled ravioli and it came out really good. Smell is fishy but flavor is really subtle and delicious

A nice treat but...
On the Product Page it says: “The production of Powdered Squid Ink Concentrate involves only ONE thing and ONE thing only: Natural Fresh Squid Ink.” That may be true of the production process, but the actual product contains wheat, which you only discover if you move your mouse to the bottom photo and read the list of ingredients. Alas, I failed to do so I was so excited about finding this powder, being a huge fan of squid ink pasta, which I grew to love but can no longer find in the rural seaside town I live in now. And wheat is an issue for me as I’m on a gluten-free diet. Nevertheless, when the powder arrived, I whipped up some Thai Black Rice Noodles and the results were as expected and desired. The taste was subtle but wonderfully there, and I also appreciated the added nutrients. However, on the actual PACKAGE it says “Once opened, please consume immediately.” Having read on the product age how very long this product's shelf-life is, I was surprised to discover that once the package is opened, it has absolutely no shelf life at all. Using the entire package all at once is impossible for me. It's a 3-pack priced at $30, which means just one large serving of squid ink pasta cost me $10.00. That’s a bit steep even for a special treat. If I had a large family who loved the taste of squid ink, or if I owned a small restaurant, this product would be ideal, but when cooking for just one or two persons on a budget, it’s not cost effective because the open package can't be stored for further use.
