I would recommend something more robust, such as the M16A2; if you're going to war with kids, the lighter M4 carbine is a better choice for them. The SG 516 is also a well-thought of choice. If, however, you expect to go to war in extremely adverse conditions, it's hard to argue with the sheer robustness of the classic AK-47. Good luck in your fight against the Covenant!
