a neat look into a great man
Walt Disney has always been someone I have looked up to from a very young age. The man himself is quite fascinating to me. It is a quick, breezy read with chapters separated into the different decades of his life. A short introduction for each decade sets the stage and then captions prod you along through the pictures, adding context to make the snapshots more meaningful.Even though you can sit down and read through the book in an hour or so, I felt compelled to dwell on some of the photos in order to just take in more. They've got some really interesting photos of Walt, especially when he was younger. I have read several dozen books on Disney, and this is a nice change of pace that just sort of celebrates his life and contributions. The pictures on the front and back covers are fantastic, too.If you're a fan like I am, you WILL enjoy this book. Unlike the other reviewer, I wasn't aware this was a reprint of an older book, but am thankful they brought it back so it popped up on my radar.

Don't be fooled - this is a reprint of an earlier book
This book was originally published in 1996 with the same title. The only difference is the cover pictures. The book is not written by Diane Disney Miller, just the introduction. The inside of the book is exactly the same as the 1996 version. If you don't have the original book, it's well worth the price. It is full of quotes by Walt, and pictures from his life, starting in childhood. If you do have it, it's probably not worth it just to get the new cover, although the back cover with a family shot coming through the castle is pretty cool.

LOVED this picture book about Walt Disney !! Although not a lot of pages, the book is great book to look at over & over again. Also cheaper price on amazon then you will find in ANY bookstore. Truly a treasure and testament to what a visionary Walt Disney was and the influence he still has in our culture.

enjoyable
We bought this book specifically to take to WDW and get autographs in thinking it would be more unique than the average autograph book. It's a really nice book with pictures of Walt Disney, family, and friends, and snippets of his life story in an easily read format. It's short enough to be read in a few minutes, and having read it, our appetites are whetted to learn more about this man who has sprinkled so many lives with pixie dust.

Excellent book of Walt Disney photos arranged chronologically
This book is exactly as described by the title, an amazing treasury of photos from throughout Walt's life. I have many Disney books; this is one of my favorites!

❀✽● Excellent ! ●✽❀

Accurate title which can be interpeted in two ways
I was expecting something different. The book is really (as it says inside) a pictorial biography of Walt Disney. It is not a behind the scenes look at Disney's film career and his influence in the film studios. It is really a family photo album, where Disney's staff and friends are his "family". Too be fair, there are some nuggets in here, like shots of the live fawns used as animation models, or the shots of the girls who played Alice in his early Alice comedies. This is more a book for the social historian than for someone interested in early animation film development.
