Waterman Hemisphere La Collection Privee Fountain Pen, Blue Ink - Fine Nib, Bronze Satine with Chrome Trim

This is a slightly small pen, meanint the grip is a bit narrow, but it handles well and writes nicely.The Hemisphere has a non-flexing medium steel nib that doesn't have much character, but the ink flow is medium to wet and there is no skipping even when scribbling quickly. The balance is improved by posting the cap.Overall a nice pocket pen, but maybe not weighty enough for a long essay compared to a Waterman Expert. My preference is for a heavier and thicker pen, such as a Jinhao X750, but the Hemisphere is a good pen for small jobs.

I love writing with fountain pens and have some of them. This is my first Watermark fountain pen, and I love it. I was a little put off by other reviewers writing that it dries out fast. I did have this problem with another pen and was not too keen to repeat the experience. Indeed, when I got it first I used black ink and the flow was not too good. I then tried it with the ink cartridge it came with, with blue ink, and it writes soft and smooth and is simply great. I know that black ink is sometimes a problem in fountain pens, and for this one it is explicitly stated on the website that the standard ink colour is serenity blue. I just use this colour in the future and enjoy this great, elegant and lovely pen!

Beautiful pen, I bought this to replace a defective version which I sent back. I had issues with the pen skipping, which is something many people have noticed in the past. However, the nib now on my new pen is like glass, it is so smooth and has not skipped once. It provides a nice silky amount of ink and is truly a joy to write with. The cosmetics of this pen are also quite classy, with a rich blue lacquer with bold chrome trims, it really is a work of art. Although I had issues with my first Hemisphere (I purchased the deluxe metal version for £72.10), I soon forgave Waterman after receiving the replacement. I should mention that it works well with the standard converter too, no leaking and looks pretty smart with the pen.

Letter writing may have died out, replaced by the impersonal meaningless email, but not the Fountain Pen and note book. Writing with the fountain pen takes getting used to by anyone new to it but after a while becomes a joy to use. I prefer the Waterman fountain pen over the Cross and Parker but thats my personal choice. I like the Watermans 50/ 50 metal and black chrome finish which is not heavy to write with.

Bought this pen after recently using the bog standard Parker Vector model. The difference is incredible. Very smooth, nice unbroken ink flow and it looks fantastic.Just one or two issues which prevent me giving it 5 stars.1) The pen has a lovely chrome finish, so imagine my disappointment when i realised the grip part of the pen is just black plastic, and a VERY cheap feeling plastic at that. It even has visible seams where the two halves have been joined - which you can feel when you grip it. Even the £10 Parker pen didn't have this problem! It's simply not good enough for a £50-60 pen!2) As a medium nib it does write quite thickly and uses a lot of ink. Fine on normal paper but when i tried using it on a birthday card the ink bled so badly i had to buy another one and use a different pen.

occasionally WHSmiths have these pens on offer, Amazon has the best prices, best stock availability and with regards to the pen, tried and trusted brand for me. excellent writing quality. I have heard from a friend that as the pen gets older you need to press more on the nib as the ink isnt free flowing.

A Waterman pen is something I have always had a yearning for and now I have one and am thoroughly appreciating having the opportunity to do so

This pen was bought as a gift, and was very well received by the recipient. I'm told it writes very well.I've been using a Waterman fountain pen for well over 20 years and it's still going strong, never had a single problem with it.
