Let me just start and say that most of these negative reviews are from people who don't know much at all about how to operate and maintain tools. The Andis Fademaster clipper as pictured here is in a league of its very own. I ordered mine for Christmas, it came and right out of the box I set the blades correctly and adjusted the tension screw on the side of the the machine with a flathead screwdriver to the 1 o'clock position. It was fine after that. No loud noise thereafter. Hopefully that small piece of knowledge helps a few folks out with their purchase. Or you guys can always find troubleshooting how to videos on YouTube.

Update; andis hot in touch with me and explained how to adjust for voltage. But fast forward from April to August 2025, the clippers all of a sudden were working fine and now they just stopped cutting and I can’t adjust them.. Don’t know what happened to andis but their products are cheaply made and are not made to last. DO NOT BUT ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. Omg! These are so loud that the noise is deafening! Like my ears and head hurt literally. The sound is painful and vibrating. These are my third pair of Andis. I kind of had a feeling that paying $89 for this product after I paid $150 for my last two pairs of Andis clippers was a bad idea. And it was. After about 30 seconds they started humming so loud that multiple uses will lead to me having to see an ear specialist and possibly a neurologist. Terrible. But I can vouch that their master clippers are perfect. I guess you get what you pay for but these should be taken off the market

They are quiet when you first get them and once it’s too late to return they flip the switch. So loud I can’t even use them. I should have listened to other reviews.

I keep seeing everyone leave reviews about the noise. It's a simple screw adjustment. They were noisy when I first opened them then I turned the screw and they are as quiet as a mouse! They cut great too! I highly recommend these clippers!

You can never go wrong with these at all.. works wonders.

I've had Andis Clippers since the mid-2000s. This was my 4th purchase. It might be my last. These worked great the first two times I used them. Third time wasn't so lucky. I turned them on, they were extremely, excessively, ridiculously loud. Too loud to bring anywhere close to my ears unless I wanted to rupture my eardrums. I had to pull out my 12 year old clippers instead. They cost me half the price, and they're still going strong. I hope this was an aberration, not a harbinger of a company going down. I'm returning them. So disappointing.

It makes a noise when you turn it on, but when you lower the engine speed, it doesn't work. I also put oil on the blades.I didn't use any.
