Going for Gold
When someone does not like reading, a lot of the time it is because they have not found the right book. If you are not a fiction fan, try some non-fiction. The EDGE series of books are a varied collection of titles that aim to capture reluctant young readers by concentrating on some of the less traditional subjects to write books on. Their mini set of sporting biographies called 'Sporting Heroes' are a great example of this as sports mad children are not always reading mad. You can use these books to try and harness their passion for sport into a passion for reading. The set has some mega name likes Ronaldo and Neymar. In the grand scheme of things Adam Peaty is not as well known, but he has already accomplished so much being an Olympic Gold medalist and multiple world record holder in breast stroke. Being Ronaldo may be a pipe dream, but Adam is a British sports person done well, so perhaps this book will inspire the next generation of Gold medalists?'Adam Peaty' has a stripped down quality to it and tells Adam's story from his childhood until his recent Olympic success. The book is part comic strip, part traditional story telling. The comic has a slightly heightened quality to it that takes some getting used to - it probably works better for the EDGE comic hero stories. Peaty himself does not look right until towards the end. The story is told simply, but in a way that will help develop language. Even as a person well passed the desired age for this book, I found the story of a boy that was scared of water, who went onto such success, fascinating. Both the style of the book and Peaty's life are relatable and this means that it should appeal to most 6-9 year who like sport, especially those who are fans of swimming.

Well Written
This is such a wonderful book. Hard backed too just over pocket sized. Packed with colour and really well written. I found it to be an absolutely amazing book. Written for a sports keen girl or boy say 8 to 9 years old yes older will enjoy it too. The book follows the sporting life of Adam Peaty a true Sporting Hero. We following his training to be a world class swimmer. The story it's self is gripping even for me a much older person. What a hero. Excellent all round

Great book but over priced..
Good book for reluctant readers with an interest in swimming... however not great value for money...... with a reading age around 9 I would say it wouldn't take more than an hour and a half. I would buy more of the series of they were coming in about half the price but won't be buying more simply as I don't think the price is worth it.colourful illustrations.... quite large print.... but it took me 15 minutes to read it all.

TINY THIN AND OVERPRICED
Be very wary. we thought this would be a perfect book as an additional Christmas present for our 10 year old grandson, who is very in to his swimming and loves Adam peaty. £6.99, and to be honest I was expecting something like a paperback. When it arrived my wife and myself were astonished at the size of it, slightly bigger than a mobile phone, and very thin, 47 pages, which I read myself in 10 minutes, mainly because it is (as was advertised) in comic book style, but not worth m ore than £1.99 in our opinion, now need to find something more substantial for him, who looks at the dims of the package on a book when ordering, we will still give it to him, but dont expect a siubstantial book , so be wary
