These coffee jars do the job. I use one for beans and the other for the fresh ground. I do think though that the glass and top would look better in a more contempory colour. Other than that they are perfect for the job they were made for.Jane

I gave 5 stars to this product because they look indeed very well.The earth colour of the lid match with the coffee or brown sugar which you can put inside them.The semi-transparent glass gives an atmosphere of mist in the kitchen.I intend to order another set.But be aware that if you intend to put ground coffee inside, one bag of coffee is exactly the capacity of the jar, so the vacuum valve will get clogged and will not work properly.The instructions are to put the ground coffee into another bag and then into the jar. Or to put less, as I did- and the valve will work properly. With the sugar one I had no problems.I do recommend this product...............I used them for almost 2 weeks.The valve doesn`t seem to be able to keep the vacuum there anymore. I don't intend to return them, because I really like them. But yes, maybe they are a little expensive for normal jars....that's why I decreased the stars rate.

There are a too small for what I wanted to use them for. And it's written in the notice that the vacuum last only for a coupe of days. So basically it's not what i need. I was looking for something to keep spices airtight for months. I suppose if you have a few biscuits and you want to keep them from on Sunday to the next that would be OK. This is not a long term solution

Perfect for keeping the full flavour of ground coffee if you want to keep it longer. It's good for other food too. But be aware they are made of glass and are fragile. Not oven proof either.

Update to my original review:Sadly, the jars no longer hold a vacuum after 2 months of use. I will be returning these for a refund. What a shame!

used it once and it was okwashed it before use (as you do)has never sealed again just sits in the corner on display

... One of the canisters does not keep a vacuum, it slowly sucks in air over a period of about 3 days. I have checked for dirt and any deformities to the seal but couldn't find any. If I had two working canisters I would be very happy with them.

Only a few days in but they hold the seal and you can hear the pressure released when you press the top, it does give for a wonderful coffee smell when you open the jar.

Was expecting this to be better than it is. Vacuum leaks out in less than 24 hours

Very inovative approach. It creates vacuum inside the container and seal it as if food is in sealed packet. But size is little small. If it would be 900ml than it could be much utilised in kitchen.
