Work great inside trailer, shed, or house.
Works great inside! I had a camera on it and I watched the mouse jump away and the camera never caught a mouse going in the bucket but when I checked I found seven. It was easy to set up just add a little bit water in the bucket and a bit of peanut butter with a cashew on top of the peanut butter. We set it up and left it. Came back a week later and I took a picture of what I found. It was easy to clean out and because of the water. Great deal for the price. So far the trap doesn't work well outside and I'm not sure why.

It works!!!
They work! They work!! My boyfriend had the buckets laying around the house and I decided to give this brand a try after reading may reviews. I live in a VERY old house that was abandoned for 2 years before I bought it and got infested with mice. But, I’ve had these traps out for less than a week and have already caught 2 mice in each trap! So happy with this purchase. I put water in the bottom of the bucket. So easy to put together. Will just dump outside making it effortless to clean up. Great deal since it’s actually working!

Don't Waste Your Money!
AVOID. This in an older but simple concept of catching mice and rats. However, this particular product is a cheaply built, with poor execution and ineffective at catching anything. The concept of these types of traps is simple. Use a 5-gallon bucket. Make a lid, with a strategic location for a food source, where the scent will attract rodents. Make the lid with a flap/flaps that will easily dump the rodent inside the bucket, once the rodent steps on it. And to wear the rodent can't get out of. And last, make ramps for both sides of the bucket, that are sturdy and easy for mice to climb up to get to that food source. You want to put these up against the wall, where rodents generally run. Two ramps makes it effective in luring them from either side. I once homemade mouse and rat traps like this. No longer have them, so thought I would try this product, as it looked like it could be promising, even with just one ramp. RECEIVING PRODUCT AND FIRST NIGHT OF USE As soon as I opened the product and began to assemble, I was already regretting my decision. The plastic was rather cheap and flimsy. I've seen rats chew through more durable plastic. The one ramp came in two different pieces, that snapped together. I did not trust this snapping system. I was also questioning where the ramp hooked to the unit and the way it hooked. It came with a little nose cone that snapped on and off, where you would load it with peanut butter, cheese, etc. But, applying peanut butter(what always works best for me) to the drop-flap itself seemed more effective. I'll credit the way this unit snaps on well to a 5-gallon bucket. I had to be so careful in setting this in place, as the ramp kept wanting to unsnap and break into its two pieces. Ramp also did not want to stay in place or stay attached to the unit. Still, I tried to stay optimistic. NEXT DAY I went to check on the four traps I had set up. All ramps had fallen down and were in two separate pieces. Even one section of the ramp had been carried off a few feet by a rodent. Three of the four nose cones with bait in it were GONE. I'm just dealing with rats at my place. But, the rats were successful in pulling off the nose cones, running off with them, enjoying their peanut butter with no threat of being caught. And I caught NOTHING. I was not happy. But, thought I would do some improvements to the unit, which I shouldn't have to do. I duct-taped the 2-piece ramp together, which made the ramp less likely to come apart. I duct-taped the ramp on the unit where it mounts, so it would take far more force and energy for a rat to cause the ramp to fall down. With most nose cones gone, I put plenty of peanut butter on the flaps I really wanted to get my dremel tool, modify these even more, make a second ramp for all of them. Again, I held off, as it's not something I should've had to do. Checked traps morning after NIGHT 2. Ramps were laying on the ground, torn away from units, even with the duct tape trick. Peanut butter untouched, NOTHING in traps. Says something when rats have more muscle to disable these traps, than for them to stay together and actually CATCH SOMETHING. Ramps were still together, but tape had loosened up enough to where they were close to falling apart. I was not going to modify or improve these traps any further. I gave up and put in for a refund. Long review. Sorry about that. But, wanted y'all to know in detail, what all I observed, what I tried to do to improve them, and what results I ultimately had. I certainly gave them more of a chance than people should have to. This should be an easy, plug-and-play, set up and leave alone unit for your average consumer. Even with the smallest mice, you would still need to tape ramps together and ramp to the unit, to be successful in catching them. Otherwise, they'll fall apart and come loose on you. I will say I purchased a similar product by another company, slightly more in cost than these are. Decent design, two ramps for each unit. I caught two rats in the first 20 minutes. So, definitely a design and manufacturing flaw on this particular product. Save your time, your money. There are better ones out there. Don't gamble on this one, to where you're packing it back up for a refund as well. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But, only fair to make you consumers aware of what you're buying. Hope this helped.

Works well - you'll want to reinforce the ramp
The Mouse Trap Bucket Lid is an innovative and humane solution for trapping mice and rats. This 4-pack of automatic reset flip and slide mouse traps is designed to be used with a standard 5-gallon bucket. It offers a safe and reusable alternative to traditional spring-loaded traps, making it an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor use. Key Features: 1. Flip N Slide Bucket Lid: - The trap automatically resets after each capture, allowing it to trap multiple rodents without the need for manual resetting. It is capable of trapping small to medium-sized rats as well as mice. 2. 100% Safe Mousetrap: - Unlike traditional traps, there are no spring-loaded parts that can harm children or pets. This design eliminates the risk of getting fingers caught and makes it safer to remove captured rodents without direct contact. 3. Easy Setup: - Creating a bucket mouse trap is straightforward. Simply attach the flip & slide lid to a 5-gallon bucket, place bait inside, snap the lid on top, and attach the included 20” climbing ladder. The rodents do the rest. 4. Humane Design: - This no-kill trap can be used indoors or outdoors, making it versatile for various locations such as homes, garages, barns, workshops, and gardens. It avoids the odor associated with dead rodents by capturing them alive for easy release. 5. Reusable and Practical: - The trap lid and bucket can be washed and reused, making it a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option. Additionally, the bucket can be repurposed for other uses such as a trash can with a lid. Best mouse trap bucket produc !!!
Best product out there for the 5 gallon mouse bucket trap! Hands down best quality and functionality. I jave jad 3 different types/manifacturers of these and can attest to it being #1. Removable bait area was a fantastic upgrade from the others. More important than that was the large pin/hinge diameter the black trap/flap door !!!! Vital for the life and functioning of the trap. Other nrands break off during assembly or during shipment which makes tje entire product worthless afterwards. Thanks for a great product!

Good but has flaws
This product really works. It catches them but the lid has a very narrow margin of error in its construction and the mice and we have highly intelligent and motivated ones, can get out. The swing part of the lid, if it doesn't fit perfectly can be used as an escape hatch.

You're making the right choice!
These traps are AWESOME! We bought those "sound" things that are supposed to rid you of mice because they emit a sound only mice can hear. I think it worked to bring them in not drive them out. It went from seeing 1 mouse to mice everywhere in the area we put them! We placed 2 of these traps with the ramp connecting to the mouse "highway" in 2 days over 20 mice! It's been a week now. No sign of mice. No sound of mice and no sight of mice! These traps are the BOMB!

Not A Great Design
I received this Nov 12, 2025. It is Nov 16, 2025. I cannot give five stars. It has not caught a mouse yet. IF a mouse gets into it, I will up the stars. I will inform that I do not like this design. I saw others on this order and I wish I got them instead. The way this is made, you are to push metal tabs down on top and bottom to keep it together. Getting my hand into where the snack tray is located is not easy. Most went into the bucket while fixing that up, because you cannot see what you are dong and you are fumbling around trying to get to the tray with the food. It would be better if that area can be opened up in order to get the food set up and to be able to look inside to see if a mouse got in. As is, to lift the lid to see if a mouse got inside is not a good method because it gets the flimsy ramp out of whack. This is a poor design compared to some of the others I see listed.
