Our 8 year old absolutely loved building this Bluetooth speaker, He was so proud of Himself, gave Him a sense of independence doing it all by Himself.These STEM kits are a great Educational tool, good for any child who loves to tinker.

This was bought for a 10 year old and they had a blast putting it together. The sound is awesome for the price.

The media could not be loaded. I got this for my 13 yr old thinking he would enjoy tinkering. He wasn't interested, so he gave it to my 8 yr old. She was initially excited about it but then lost interest (in all fairness, we were in Big Bear when it was gifted), so my husband finished assembling it. As a speaker, it is very clear and has a great volume range. It is battery operated, so it is not chargeable. It has an off and on switch but does not have volume buttons and can only be controlled via the device that is connected. It is a quality final product and teaching children a bit about electronics. It was a neat gift and I would even say perhaps a 7 yr old would be a good age to give it to.

This item turned out pretty cool. However, batteries?? Nobody wants to have to buy AA batteries over and over again, not to mention they're attached to the out side of the Bluetooth speaker; and without a cover. That makes them vulnerable to water, damages if dropped, and the possibility of battery acid leaking directly were my child will end up getting that on her hands. So try giving options of rechargable lithium cadmium with a USB B or C port. That would be most excellent. But no, seriously it was still pretty cool item.

Granddaughter was able to assemble all by herself and connect to her cellphone via Bluetooth. She was thrilled and inspired. Highly recommended.

This was fun to set up, but a couple of things first as to why only 3 stars.One, the wires weren't completely held on very well and I had to solder it and use wire tube's to keep them from bending/ breaking.Two, The speakers aren't that great. I didn't expect a whole lot, but these really crackle, are spotty and doesn't have a great reception. I could have gotten a faulty one. Just not impressed.Three, not a lot of range for the blue tooth have to keep whatever it's connected close.None the less, my son loves it.
