If you let the ice cream soften a little, it works pretty good, but the handle bumps into the sides of the container. It’s also a little tricky to wash. Still it’s satisfies that nostalgia for when I was a kid.

The best ice cream scooper ever

When I was young, we would go to the thrifty’s and get ice cream in this cylinder shaped scoop and it was wonderful and of course the ice cream flavors were amazing. Now we have that piece of nostalgia at home and even though we have a Cutco ice cream scoop it basically sits in the drawer and collects dust.

Maybe I am not using it correctly, but I might as well use a spoon rather than have bought this useless gadget reminiscent of my childhood. I used to get ice cream at Woolworth’s that was cylinder shaped when you got it on a cone. This scoop was hard to use and you had to pack the ice cream in the with a spoon and help it out. Don’t waste your money!
