This book is well worth the money useful in understanding C language and using pic microcontrollers for beginners but there was room for improvement it's useful that you can down load the code other wise you would have too fault find as there are typing errorsthis book much better than the first book

Very good follow up from the first book but could easily be starting point for those with a little knowledge already. There is some duplication of how some C programs work as they crop up in different chapters. The author however presents each topic in consistent and understandable style which I found helpful.

Work my way through the book, very good for people starting embedded C, good examples and good support from the website.

As an old programmer i was split between ASM or C to start playing with the pics, so i got a couple of book and after a quick read of both i choose C . i read this book first before the first of the 2, but with a programming back ground it was easy to follow and at the end i could program Pics.The thing about this book is it should follow Volume 1, which i read after (opps) but Vol1 did fill in some gaps that this book didnt cover, like statement structures and if-conditions.I still use this book as a reference to problems and to help structure my code to a standard, this book unlike the first one , doesnt gather dust for long before a pick it up again.If you not from a computer background then read VOL1 first, otherwise you could just start from this one.

The book has too many pages with the same text. It explains a few examples but does not teach how to program in the C language.

both books are great vol.1 and vol.2 they start out simple and then build on that, they are easy to understand too.great books for beginners.

Some dated material but still a good book.

Very detailed book. I was able to find all the information I needed to establish a solid foundation and start programming the PIC microcontroller with my own ideas.Excellent for beginners!

With a lot of books about microcontrollers on the web sometimes is hard to pick one that fits the needs of starters. And it is harder to find a book that addresses the most important thing; low cost but pro solution to jump to the embedded world. In this book advanced topics are covered, like interrupts timers and communication but always in a practical point of view.
