Flimsy cover
Be aware the cover is incredibly thin, resulting in the book being rather 'floppy' because the spine doesn't hold true. Very much looking forward to reading it despite the quality of the cover.

Bought as a gift. Looked like a thick book.
I purchased this as a gift for someone who is a keen reader. Obviously not read it but was told it was a good read. The book arrived in a good condition. So I would recommend.

Transformative
It requires some effort to grasp certain sections of the book, especially when Dostoevsky details the nuances of Christianity in Russia, but if you can work though it, (I used Chat GPT to help summarise the meaning behind some passages), The Brothers Karamazov is a thought provoking master class. I am yet to read another authors work which encapsulates, with such vivid detail, the stark differences in personality of a wide range of characters. I know people struggle to read his books because they are laborious, but this is because of the time and effort he dedicates to fleshing out the tendancies and thought patterns of characters. At times, it can feel like the storyline isn't progressing, but these sections allow you to grasp why certain characters will make the decisions they do, why start to suffer and why they change their minds. A classic, no doubt about it.

An almost perfect diamond of literature.
Dostoyevsky's Brothers Karamasov left me speechless, awed that a man could write to such depth, with such flowing beauty about such heart breaking and poignant ideas. This same depth invites the reader to become fully engrossed in simply the greatest character development and character weaving that I personally have ever encountered from any book. Each character is fleshed out and filled in so thoroughly that by the end of the book you feel you are a part of their lives. The emotion that comes through their interactions is magnificently crafted and leaves the reader feeling like they have participated in something as rich as and developed as a vintage brandy or well cured whisky. This was my first Dostoyevsky book, from the day I opened the first page of the dauntingly long book, I was hooked until the day I closed the last, desperately wishing that the book was twice, if not three times the length - such had the characters, their lives, their emotions, their stories captivated me. It is my personal conviction that if one has not read at least some of this book, then one has not truly read. I simply cannot express how beautiful the fantastically weaving complexity of it is. The one thing I thought was a tad shame however was the length of the trial scenario towards the end. If this was a little shorter I think it would be a perfect piece of literary writing. A tarnished perfection will have to do I suppose.

Beautiful clothbound, poor packaging.
Full five stars for the product itself. Love CBS's designs on the covers and the penguin cloth bound translations and quality. Sadly Amazon let the product down by delivering damaged goods due to inadequate packaging. My first copy had scraped and smudged print on the front cover which was in all fairness promptly replaced, only to have a bashed spine. Speedy delivery, competitive prices but poor condition. Can't speak to the contents as not yet read and will take me a while. Looking forward to it though.

The black pattern on the cover peels off way too easily.

Aún no lo leo, acaba de llegar. Esta un poco maltratado de los bordes, pero no importa, batallé mucho para conseguirlo, y ya está aquí :) No es adaptación, es la novela completa

"The Brothers Karamazov" is an absolute classic and masterpiece. Also, I like David McDuff's translation (though I'm not fluent in Russian). Although it is a slow read, I find that it's worth it and can take up your spare time that you would have been bord senseless. With what I have read of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky, he certainly delves into the morality that encircles the depths of humanity.
