Save your money ub820 hunters. Get this one.
Amazing player, I was going to return several 4k movies because the ps5 was skipping, freezing, ect.I wanted to blame the disc's at first but then decided to try out a warehouse deal, so glad I did, this machine plays everything I own with a perfect flawness experience.I highly recommend this player, I know everyone wants the ub820 including me but this taught me a valuable lesson indeed. So easy to set up right out of the box.Picture, sound are all superior to the ps5.Very nice compact size design will fit perfect into anyone's setup.Complete with remote and batteries.Upscaling all your old dvd s, upscales bluray up to 4k quality, plays any disc you can put in including cd s of any kind.

Awesome but the remote is not my favorite
This has been great. I don't love how the buttons are set up on the remote because some of the buttons that you use all the time (play/pause) are the smallest ones on the remote. But the player is wonderful because it can play older DVDs that my Xbox will not play and it also plays lightly scratched DVDs that the Xbox will not play. The remote is my only complaint.

Exactly what I needed
This 4K UHD Player is just exactly what I needed. I recently just started buying 4K Blu-ray’s and I needed something to play them at the best quality, with HDR support. The playback is responsive and quick either for standard Blu-ray’s or 4K of course. The controller is simple and comes with batteries. The set up itself is easy. I have no need for internet use with it, but if you do, you will need an Ethernet cable. It does not have any bothering lights. And the quality of picture is beautiful. Does not come with an HDMI cable, but most of these never do. Highly recommend for standard movie watching in 4K in your home theater.

If It Only Turned On...
The media could not be loaded. So I recieved this Panasonic 4k hi-def blu-ray player as Christmas present. After opening the box I plugged it in and it turned on when pushing the power button on the remote. It played a 4k disc as well as a standard blu-ray disc without any issues. The problem begins when you turn the blu-ray player off. Once powered off the player refuses to turn back on, this is trying to use the power button on the remote as well as the power button on player itself. I have to unplug the player and then plug it back in for the player to power on. The problem then begins again as soon as the player is turned off. Contacted Amazon support and they were fabulous in trying to contact Panasonic support, when that failed they elected to send me a replacement unit. I will update my review once the replacement player has arrived but for right now it's a one star review for the player and a five star review for Amazon's customer support.

Great UHD/Bluray/DVD Player
Update:I replaced the NVME drive, and when I turn off any settings for making the monitor faster for video games, the player works flawlessly. In my situation, changing the resolution or color space causes the digital receiver to upscale a movie. With stock settings, it appears that the UHD player upscales the video. I like either, but now I use the default settings because I am finished exploring the features of the UHD player.NVME: ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, Western Digital SN770I like this player very much. Currently, I watch video files more than disks. I put the video files on a USB NVME enclosure. Sometimes the player freezes, and I have to unplug the player. Sometimes, when playing files with the USB function, the audio/video sync fails during the first minute of a video. I turn the player on and off, and the audio and video are synced again. When I watch HD Videos, I change the color-space settings to the HD color-space. I believe reproducing HD videos with an HD color-space changes the colors on my monitor, and I believe that the quality of the images is more exciting. Despite the problems I have when using the USB function, which might be caused by my USB NVME enclosure, I like this player very very much. I use it every day. Great purchase.

Not a bad player, but...
The good and bad:The Good: good price, supports multiple HDR formats. Comes with batteries for remote, USB 2.0 port in front to play media files from USB drives. Does not require you to download some stupid poorly written data harvesting add-ridden app on your phone to operate. The Bad: Only plays Region A. No wifi so you are required to plug into Ethernet cable when ever they update the DRM on future BR/4K releases. No controls on player itself other than eject/power, so if you lose or break the remote, the unit becomes inoperable.Other: I miss the days when electronics like this looked advanced and high tech with their vacuum florescent displays and controls right on the unit itself. Just compare the looks of any original DVD player from the past to the ones they make now and you will understand what I am talking about. Now they look boring and bland. Just plain plastic with barely any or no controls or displays on the unit itself that you will be unable to use if you lose the remote.
