Vale Blinds Blackout Roof/Skylight blind For Velux GGL/GPL/GHL (WHITE 0008 (SYS F), MO6/306)

The seller was very helpful in ensuring I ordered the right blind for my Velux window - that was essential. When it arrived and I unpacked it, I thought it was the wrong one, reason being the instructions are very basic and are pictures so you really have to take note of the drawings to ensure you get things installed the right way round. I was just about to give up and consult You tube (there's a video for installing these things) when I noticed I had not inserted the rail all the way into the slot, once done, it was installed in 5 min. Very easy to install too, just a shame the instructions are not more thorough. Works really well too, in blocking the light out completely, makes such a difference.

I bought this for a skylight in a loft bedroom, which gets very warm. The screws were placed in an odd part of the packaging and for a while I thought the screws didn’t come with it! After that, it was very easy to install, is easy to use and keeps the room cooler, whilst completely blocking out the light. There’s a knack to pulling it up and down, which is easy, but I think if you are a bit heavy handed with it, you could damage it. Good value for money.

was easy to put onto the skylight with just 4 screws. it was a bit fiddly to hold it up against the window frame and simultaneously put the screws in, whilst on top of a ladder but it could have been worse...the runners down the sides didnt quite fit at first and required some "encouragement" to push into where they need to sit with the top bar / roller assemblywhat's best though is how well it blacks out light! completely blacks out the window, very happy. was worried that getting a light coloured one wont be as good, but have been happily proven wrongcant voucher for durability at present, but very happy with how well it performs so far

Overall these blinds are great for the price. They fit really well and despite people saying they are not blackout.......they are. No light comes through the fabric, just a little at the sides but to me that's expected. The only small criticism I had was the packaging. The box enda are not sealed properly and as such a couple of fixing screws had gone missing in the post. A trip to the man cave soon resolved this so no real drama. If, like me, you don't want to pay velux's extortionate prices, then these are definitely for you.

Arrived safely and on time. I was at work when I had the blind fitted so when I got back I immediately closed the blind to see if it was totally blackout...which it was. Hooray! The only problem I had was I couldn't then open it. It was stuck firm. It was only after playing around with it for several minutes that I realised it was locked and I had to tilt the bottom of the blind to released the lock....phew!

We needed a new blackout blind for my daughters bedroom, velux charge a fortune and the previous one didn't really black out the room that well and was a right carry on to put up. We saw this on amazon with good reviews so I emailed the code on the window to the company who replied quickly with the correct one to order. It was dispatched and sent in a timely manner. We have now finally got the window sanded and re varnished and easily put up the new blind, which is so much better than the old one. We will be ordering more for other windows we are delighted

If you compare it to the original Velux blind, it is slightly different but once on the window, it looks the same. The only thing I would say is that if you pull the blind down completely, you can't lift it up in one go unless you push the bottom bar towards the window slightly. It seems to be on a spring so don't force it up. Push it in gently and it will go up a bit at a time. Otherwise, it looks lovely. Easy to fit. Did it myself (Lady DIYer!) in 15 minutes.

After long research trying to avoid the Velux prices, finally decided to give it ago (not without hesitation) and it paid off!!! They cover an extensive range of Velux models, super easy to assemble and YES IT DOES BLACKS OUT! just the tiiiiny tiiiiniest gap at the bottom when fully closed.Super handy and press and slide mechanism that allows you to stop the blind at any point and stays fixed so you can regulate the light.Very, very pleased with this product!

These blinds arrived in good time.They were a bit fiddly to put up ,but only took about half an hour for both blinds. The metal sides are as not as well made as they could be, but when up they look fine. The blind shuts out the light as it supposed to and there are no gaps. I am happy with these blinds and I am going to buy more for the other windows in the loft.

Perfect fit and done in the space of 10 mins. Before you start, just read and then re-read the instructions. Then follow the simple pictures and you will have the blind fitted in no time at all - of course this is ensuring you have ordered the correct one to fit your window, as they come in many sizes.I nearly bought a proper Velux blind, but this is just as good and wish I had purchased sooner. Will buy another for my other window now. Total blackout when fully shut. No gaps and fits flush to the wooden frame of my Velux window.

Fantastic product. Fits perfectly and so easy to install. Watched the videos in their YouTube channel and it was a piece of cake. Blocks out all the light. Great product and great customer service👍

I was quite shocked at the price of the velux window blinds from Velux. It would have cost about £100 for my P10 window which is a lot. I looked at the blinds from Vale for just unser £50 inc delivery and decided to give it a go. I took a long while to arrive (8 days) inc the Easter break though to be fair. I got it home and installed with a normal philips screwdriver which took me about 4 minutes. Daughter is very happy as she now has blind in her room. The product seems to be well made and works well. I would definitley recommend this product.

I have just replaced two old Velux roller blinds with these blinds.These blinds are far superior with really good 'blackout' capability.They look smart, open and close well. Only 5 minutes to fitThey look really good quality. If they last as well as they look I will be really happy and the bonus is they are cheaper than the 'velux' blinds

It fit my window - which was my biggest concern, however, it is really fiddly to put on. If i hadn't have found a video tutorial online i wouldn't have been able to do it. Technically it IS blackout, however, the rim metal things let some light in! So my bedroom is like 90% blackout (see picture). Which is fine to sleep in. Would have prefered it to be completely, it could be my fault with the way i installed it though. Half the price of Velux though, so win.

Easy to fix and it fits into the window beautifully completely excluding outside light as it is meant to do. I have fixed 4 of these into the Velux windows of my top floor room that has been converted into a home theatre. So effective that one can watch movies on a screen in near darkness even when it is bright sunshine outside.Easy to operate and can be conveniently opened to any desired extent.Important to make sure that you order for the correct code.
