Q: Does this work with Sandysoft's Cumulus software

Hi, the station isn't compatible with Cumulus, data can be sent directly to wunderground.com using the stations wifi capabilities. You can also download data via micro SD card in CSV format etc and use a software called easyweather IP on computer to download data, regards Kelsey from the team at Greenfrog Scientific.

Q: is the rainfall measurement accurate ?

It appears to compare well with other local PWS's, measures in 0.3mm steps so can take a while to react in very light rain. The only problem I have with the rain gauge is that it has to be cleaned often as the small hole in the capture funnel gets blocked with bird poo!

I live 8km (5m) from the English Channel and wx station performs well, coping with strong south-westerly winter storm winds. I would say the main consideration will be a solid mounting pole fixed into the ground - I use a 30mm thick wall aluminium pole sleeved onto the supplied stub-pole; former is braced with two angled smaller pole struts down to the ground for added stability. The unit itself is well constructed and has withstood a rather windy very wet last winter.
