awww come on guys
I agree this book is not like Chelsea Handlers, but its seriously not as bad as others say it is! Maybe I'm just more open to different comedy? or Maybe I can relate since I'm a college student now. Either way the book was entertaining and I found myself chuckling throughout it. Anyone who says Heather is stuck up or bragging is crazy. Comedy is all about turning your experience into a few laughs and if I am not mistaken thats what Heather is doing. I cant believe people say because Heather talks about going on dates with weirdos and alcoholic losers that people think shes being self obsessed. yaaa thats something to brag about. Her experiences are funny and semi relatable. We have been in the postion where things are getting in the heat of the moment and passion is flowing and someone has put on the breaks and "blue balls" the situation. Except Heather does it over and over again and its funny! Haters get over yourself this book may not be rolling on the ground funny but its still a good read.

Great Book, Easy Read, Funny, Funny and true
I ordered this book because i am a big chelsey lately fan and have read all of her books and Heather McDonald i see on her show during the week and thought well the first few pages seemed interesting i got it on a wednesday and it was read complete by saturday it was funny and so many things you can relate to as a woman. Sometimes she did jump from one story to another and them back to the original story which i would have preferred less of but it is a great book, funny and keeps you interested through out the whole book. I would tell anyone who likes to read but doesnt want to read fiction or anything like that to read this, along with chelsey lately they are very amussing and make you think about your parents and what if comes into mind. Hope you enjoy this book as much as i did.

Don't Waste Your Money
Synopsis: Comedienne Heather McDonald, best known for her appearances on the hit TV show Chelsea Lately, was a virgin until she was 27 years old. Sure she had lots of boyfriends, was a sorority sister, and went on plenty of dates, but the idealistic California girl was holding out for Mr. Right, while simultaneously holding out on everyone else. McDonald recounts her sexless youth and how she finally "gave it up."Review: I wish I had not read this book and there are two reasons for that. First, because I disliked this book so much, I wanted and still want my money back. This memoir was a waste of words and paper. The reason I feel that way is the second reason I wish I had not read this book: it made me severely dislike Heather McDonald. I used to really enjoy her appearances on the round table on Chelsea Lately and I thought she was pretty funny. Having read her book, I now find her nauseating.Throughout her memoir, McDonald makes continual references to her appearance, i.e., how cute she is, how she is too cute to date a certain guy, how a certain guy should be glad someone as cute as she is is dating him, etc. Also, she placed a strange amount of importance on the fact that she was in a sorority in college, and having been in one seemed to continue to affect her present life. Both these things together made McDonald come off as extremely shallow. I did not go into this book with the expectation that McDonald was the deepest, most thought-provoking person in the world. But the excessive shallowness was a complete turn off for me and prevented me from enjoying this book.Instead of being what could have been a pretty funny memoir, the author was so distasteful as a person that the book was ruined. I would not recommend this memoir to anyone.

funny book, bad editing
this book is silly fun that made me laugh a lot. i'm a loyal viewer of chelsea lately and i always like when heather is on the panel. my only question is who in the hell did you pay to edit his book? get your money back. talk about a guy being "malled." it actually should be "mauled." ricco suave? and who in the hell is tennis player vanessa williams? seriously, your editors didn't catch that it should be venus? hopefully these errors are just in the e-book version. if not, give your publisher hell and no royalties. and let me edit your next book. that said, those in need of a laugh, buy this book.

Should have read these reviews before buying...
Let met start by saying that I haven't finished the book yet, which is an indication of how uninterested I am with it.Like so many other reviewers, I am a HUGE Chelsea Handler fan! HUGE!! I knew this book wouldn't be as funny as any of Chelsea's, but I guess my expectations were still too high.To be honest, there were times in the first couple chapters where I felt like throwing the book across the room. It's only recently (after forcing myself to just get through it), that I can actually stand Heather. Not only is she completely self absorbed and stuck up, but some of her attempts at jokes came off as trying too hard and even offensive. I'm also not a fan of the way she goes off on tangents in the middle of chapters. Sometimes these tangents would begin with an awkward transition in relation to the story line and then go on for several pages, which started to get annoying after the third random tangent.Eventually, I got used to the overall style of the book and was able to get through most of it. I even found myself laughing at parts. I plan to finish it, but probably not until I finish reading 'My Horizontal Life' for the second (or third?) time.

brings back old memories......
Having grown up in LA around the same time as Heather I can relate to the social scenes she dipicts in her book. I am pretty sure I might have been at some of the same bars at the same time as Heather and possibly even dated the same losers...I mean guys. Her writing is not going to win her a Caldecott award but her stories are hilarious and perfect for this genre of book. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in a quick funny read.....especially if you are familiar with the LA scene. I fortunately have moved away but can appreciate it nonetheless. Although some of the stories make Heather appear to be a bit shallow the fact that she stuck by her then boyfriend and his new baby girl shows that still waters run deep!!

disappointing and boring
I was really looking forward to this, being a huge fan of Heather's podcast Juicy Scoop. Guys...don't waste your money. This is so boring i could only read a few pages. Heather comes across as so unlikeable. Stick with Juicy Scoop instead!

annoying
I thought I would have enjoyed this book. but I find her just as annoying in this book as I do when she is on Chelsea Handler. I thought maybe it was just her voice that bothered me. but I think it is just her.
