Great Introduction to Ayurveda
Full of great education and tips to get you into the ayurvedic lifestyle. Also very helpful as she breaks down which recipes suit each dosha. Definitely recommend to add it to your collection.

Love this book but kindle version needs improvement
I have had the print version of this for years but decided to get it on my kindle. I've used many of the recipes and enjoy the good writing in this book. However. Please fix the images in the kindle version! You can't put landscape view images in this. When you rotate the book to see the landscape view, the image rotates on the kindle and remains landscape. The problem is many of the food lists are landscape view so you have to tilt your head to try to read these long lists. Just re-lay the parts out in the Ebook version rather than use a list that is an image, please. Also, the font on these list images is small and you can't zoom.

Great resource but poorly formatted
If you're debating whether to buy the hardcopy or the ebook... get the hardcopy. This is one of many books that were shoved quickly into electronic format and ended up with a lot of really annoying errors. For example, all the charts are sideways so as to fill the page, which means when you tilt your screen to be able to read it, it flips around to still be sideways. Also many entries refer to other pages (to browse you need "locations", not "pages") but provide no link or provide incorrect links. I love the book otherwise, but I am so constantly annoyed by these publishers that put out ebooks with no actual effort in the conversation process.

great ideas to bring eastern cooking to the west
This is a very well written cookbook with lots of good recipes and helpful ideas. I do realize however, that I still have a lot to learn to really put into practice many of the ideas. Like in the book it suggests the right fruits to eat for breakfast for my "dosha". At this point, I am lucky to just eat some fruit. I usually go for some apple and grapes. It has also made me have more respect for the ayurvedic lifestyle. So, anyway, this is a good book to give me some ideas and practices to strive to incorporate in my lifestyle.

it's amazing, and contains a huge wealth of valuable info
My only negative critique of this book is that the recipes do not begin with an ingredient list, and the reader must search out the ingredients within the recipe, which feels unorganized. Otherwise, it's amazing, and contains a huge wealth of valuable info.

It is a great book about ayurvéda which is universal

Bland, Boring Recipes
I've had Ayurvedic Cooking for Westerners for 3 months and never used it. For example, the recipe for Yam soup looks so bland and boring that I bought a yam soup packet from Trader Joe, reverse-engineered the recipe based-on the ingredients label and got a better soup recipe for FREE.The recipes are pretty much the original vegetarian recipes from USA 1970s before we got more sophisticated veggie cuisine. The writer adds some text about ayurvedic principles ... but this doesn't make it a good cookbook. Recipe for mashed potatoes? Really? This book might be useful to someone completely new to vegetarian cooking with a phobia for spices. For serious students of Ayurveda and a better beginner's cookbook, I recommend Usha Lad's book Ayurvedic Cooking for Self Healing.Bottom line: If you know any vegetarian cooking already ... SKIP Ayurvedic Cooking for Westerners. Plenty of better cookbooks cover the same material on Ayurvedic food principles. If you already know to cook crepes with organic buckwheat flour and fresh organic eggs, this book will be too simplistic for you and a waste of money.2 stars instead of 1 because the "rotation diet" concept looks interesting and if you have NEVER EVER in your WHOLE LIFE tried any vegetarian or foreign food, this book is a non-threatening way to dip a toe into the vegetarian pond.

Great book
A really helpful guide to Ayurvedic Cooking. I find Ayurvedic Medicine one of the easiest medical traditions to self diagnose and self treat, and this book has helped me explore recipes that will support that. I also really enjoy the non western book by the same author.

I like this addition to my collection of Ayurveda books
this book by Amandea Morningstar has been a great accompaniment for western food as I have Dr Vasant Lad's books that give mainly recipes from India which I enjoy too.

western cooking
Contains short section on the ayurvedic principles but recipe content is much more relative to American market than British . However the recipes are clear on the tridoshic effects.

Sits on my shelf
Living in Greece I've had a hard time trying to find the ingredients required for most recipes in this book.
