Easy-to-use Kitchen Composter
We are very happy with our Kitchen Composter…you can put so many more kinds of food into it vs. our big outdoor composter. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to fully process the bucketful, and turns it into a dry, fine, brown material that is ready to spread on your garden. It’s best to turn it on out in your garage rather than indoors as the (not unpleasant) processing scent is strong. After 18 months of nearly daily use the grinder mechanism came loose but was very easily popped back in and we were back to our composting. I only bring this up because when we called Airthereal Customer Service they were very helpful and sent very detailed instructions, including photographs, of how to easily make the fix. Having our Kitchen Composter is so handy since you don’t have to wait for months to be able to have usable mulch like with our big outdoor mulcher, and you can run it in the comfort of your garage and not have to trek out to the back yard in the wintertime.

This little guy just keeps going. I have used it in nearly every day for the last 6 months and it works perfectly every time. Since it stays in the garage, I don't use the filters - it just makes the garage a bit aromatic until the door opens. I'm surprised at how little material is left after processing. I've been storing it in bags all winter in the freezer.

Good Way to Shrink Food Scraps
I've put a couple dozen cycles on my unit and really like the results. This unit is fairly compact and does a great job of grinding up food wastes into dust and small particles. The resulting product is about 1/3 of what was loaded. I wouldn't consider it finished compost by any means. Though it is a pretty good start. Only two issues so far. I had to move the unit to my garage because the odor generated was too much for in the kitchen. The carbon filter knocks down odor, but doesn't eliminate it. The other was when I put a bag of rotten grapes in the unit. The contents set up like cement. It took a day of chipping, soaking, and scrubbing to everything out so that I could use the unit again. Overall, the unit is a pretty good value.

I have mulch! I love this machine!!
Living in California, we are encouraged to compost our food scraps rather than throwing them into the garbage and adding to the landfills. But the traditional composting, using an outside bin, with the smell, potential to attracting insects and varmints, and all of the turning was not for me. I wanted something quick and easy!I kept hearing about the Lomi countertop composter on my True Crime podcasts so decided to check it out! But, after checking, I decided the price of the Lomi was way too much! I then started looking at other options and reading all of the reviews. That is when I found the Airthereal Composter! I'm so glad I did!!I ordered the machine on Sunday, knowing it wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. I immediately began saving all of my food scraps in a countertop scrap bin. After reading reviews and tips, I learned that it was important that the mixture be a combination of wet and dry material. I was walking my dog and came upon a pile of dry pine needles and knew this was the perfect dry material! I used my extra poo bags to gather a nice supply! ☺️Finally, my machine arrived on Wednesday! I took some of my saved food scraps and put them in the bucket. I then added some of the pine needles. The bucket is relatively small and only holds a few cups of scraps. It is probably a days worth in our home, which is perfect as I prefer not to keep scraps longer than a day I turned on the machine and was amazed at how quiet it was! You had to listen closely to hear it running. There was absolutely no smell so I can run it on our kitchen counter while watching TV in the adjoining family room.Five hours later, I noticed the machine was off so I opened it and I have mulch!! It only makes about a cup of mulch but I usually have enough food scraps to run it at least once a day. So I will have a constant supply of mulch for my potted plants, and eventually, my flower beds. And best of all, I will no longer be throwing food waste in the garbage!I have attached pictures of the food scraps in the bucket before and after adding the dry needles to give you an idea of the wet/dry mixture I used. I also attached a picture of the machine buttons when I started the machine. The next pictures show the beautiful mulch I created and the bucket after emptying the mulch.Although the manual doesn't give a lot of information, it does list what should and should not be put in the composter. What is really nice is that you receive an extra 6 month extended warranty when you register your machine.I am very happy with my purchase and so will my plants be! It is incredible how easy it makes composting! And as a bonus, it is fun! If you are considering buying a countertop composter and comparing models, I highly recommend the Airthereal Composter! It does exactly what you expect without any noise, smell or mess! Just do it!!

Would not buy this brand again * update *
We’ve owned this for about 5 months now. It worked great for a while, then all the sudden quit grinding. We contacted the company through email (as thats all they provide). They insisted on a video which we sent. After a lot of back and forth it was determined that it was a missing gear. Be warned if you purchase this, there is a gear that can come out with the waste bucket. It isn’t shown in the book, so if you don’t look for it, you wouldn’t know it was there. We think it came out with the bucket and when we carried the bowl to the garden to empty it, it dropped out somewhere. We’ve been unable to find it. They are going to invoice us for the part which has to ship from the China warehouse. Dependent on the cost of the gear, this composter may get trashed. I won’t spend a fortune on this gear that I might also have to wait awhile to get. They say they stand behind their product. That’s great but how about good customer service? There is no mention of this part in their book and there is no information in the trouble shooting. It’s obviously a problem and I’m wondering how often this happens.* update*The company did replace the gear for free, however it was with a warning to not lose it again. I will repeat, the gear is not permanently attached so can easily stick to the waste container. Without knowing this is an issue it would be easy to lose. We look now every time we empty the container. I am still unhappy with the customer service. The reprimand not to lose the part again sticks in my craw. Twice the woman said ‘don’t lose it again’. Twice I said ‘build a product that does not fall apart’. So I stick to my original comment, I will not buy this band again.

This things awesome
I'm glad I finally bit the bullet and bought one. Before, I had a system of bags that food scraps would go til I had time to take it down to the compost area, dig a hole and bury. This is a much cleaner and faster way to do it. If it lasts a few years before breaking down, I'll be happy
