These traps work great! We’ve already caught a few rats with them. I’m so glad they allow us to catch and release safely—it makes my heart happy knowing we can remove them without harm.

I've been using these traps for many years now,,, Family & friends bought over a dozen & everything works perfectly.#1,,, Make sure you keep the traps clean. Check them daily.IF they get 'dirtied' by urine or poop, soak them in water for a while, & scrub them with a stiff bristled brush. The longer you keep them clean, the longer they will last & the quicker you will keep on catching the critters.I have dozens of nut & fruit trees on my property, so it's just about impossible to keep the MUNKS, mice & rats away. The closer winter comes, the more the critters want to pack up food & bring it inside my garage, barn & CAR!I've trapped hundreds of 'critters' so far,,, & all it takes is ONE kinda fresh peanut for bait. 1/2 peanut way in the back on the trip plate, & the other 1/2 up near the front of the trap.& now, those 'critters' are all in a 'better place'! ;>)

Had a rat problem after the several years vacant house on the street was bought and the new owners started working on it. These traps set easily but the doors once closed on a rat are not strong enough to keep the rats inside the trap. I was only ever able to successfully trap two of the babies. Mice are too small to trigger the door and adult rats are too big/strong to be contained by it. These will fail you and crush your dreams of humanely protecting your home from rodents. Useless.

I had purchased 2 a while ago. They work very good. Only thing with these they had no place the hold the trap open to add the bait. The ones I got last time and a catch where you but the rod to hold it open. That why the 4 stars. I had good luck making mesh bags the I hung by the trip. Before I did this the small mice ate the bait without tripping the trap.

These single handedly helped me get a hold of a rat problem we got when nothing else would trap them. It was scary to open the cage to let them go, but I don’t like rodents so it comes with the territory I guess. Easy to set and I threw some beans in the back of it to get the to go in.

You can make these traps functional but it takes a few minutes of metal bending and adjustment. The door drop wire end loops are too big and hang up about half way down when the trap is sprung. That, in conjunction with the actual door having a twist in it, leaves the bottom right corner open enough to allow the mouse to escape. The fix: needle nose pliers and pinch the end loops closed more, then bend/tweak the door from the top so the bottom closes tight. I ordered two of the black ones, and both had the same identical manufacturing problems. Shipping was fast, product was well packed.

We have a LOT of rodent activity. Trap is easy to use, except the locking mechanism began to fail after a few catches to the point it wouldn't hold at all. I had to adapt it a little to get it to function again. Even then, any rodent that would investigate the trap; even wiggle it a little on the outside... it trigger close, rodent escapes.It can trap adult rats. The door lock however gets hung up and they are strong enough to bend the metal and escape easily. I've had to tweak the sliding metal lock rod and bend the door back.The springs are weak for the door, and lever... metal is untreated/not coated, and rusts very easily... Size is perfect.It functions, just extremely low quality... not worth the money. few dollars more and better products exist.Disappointing product. I believe it is best suited for field mice, which are tiny compared to the average size mouse. Will not buy again.
