Love this book!
“I don’t feel worthy of forgiveness.” “No one is worthy. We don’t get forgiveness because we have earned it. It’s a gift—a loving gift from a loving God. God made the way for us to be reconciled to Him. He gave us Jesus, and you must now trust that He died for your sins and the sins of others. You must see that He loves you and has brought you out of that hopelessness and sin into life everlasting.”I enjoyed reading Addie’s story so much! I always enjoy Tracie’s books but this one may be my favorite. You can always see how much research she does for her stories. I always feel fully immersed in the tales she weaves. Addie went through so much and she still managed to stay sweet and kind. She worked so hard to overcome her past. I can absolutely relate to how she felt like her past had ruined her and made her unworthy of love or forgiveness. But, that feeling does not come from God. There’s nothing that will make God love us less. He knew everything we would ever do or experience before we were even born. And He can use what others intended for evil to bring about good in our lives. I loved how devoted and loyal Isaac was. There are so many people who would look down on Addie, or judge her, or give up on her. If anything, he admired her even more because of her strength in how she dealt with everything. The main themes in the story are forgiveness, second chances, and how God’s love can overcome all.

An educational story of the 1800’s
This story depicts the Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition, or world's fair, held in Seattle in 1909. There is much to learn from a time that most of us are unfamiliar with. As for me, it wasn’t my favorite Tracie Peterson book, but I still recommend reading it.

Kept me reading more!
Great reading! Kept me in suspense as to whether Addie and Isaac were going to get back together and then having her brothers show up and do those terrible things. Proved that God is in control and He knows what is best for everyone of us! Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Good Historical fiction
This book was heartbreaking to read at first, but as you read further into the story it really is a great story about having strong faith in God even when bad things happen to us.The story takes place in the early 1900's in the Yukon. Addie is the main character in this story. Addie's life was racked with heartache and mistreatment by those that should have loved her unconditionally. Addie's beau Isaac left her giving her a locket with a picture, telling her to "remember me, she vows to wait for him. When her mother dies and then years later her father dies, she is left in the care of her older brothers. Her brothers sell her to a brothel and her life takes a turn for the worse. She finally breaks free from the brothel and creates a new life for herself.Isaac leaves with his family in hopes to get a better education, to fulfill his dream of some day teaching history at a university. Once he seems to have almost captured his dreams, he thinks more and more about Addie. He goes looking for her in the last city she lived, but finds out she's no longer there but does get some information for Addie's friend and also talked with her brother. Isaac never forgets about Addie and loves her very much.Isaac and Addie finally find each other again, but Addie does not feel like she is worthy of Isaac's love anymore after all she's been through. I love how Addie grows her faith through out this book and comes to realize that she is worthy of being loved.I do wish that we had more of a history for the main characters, and I was a bit annoyed of the foolishness of Isaac. Overall, this book was an easy read and I enjoyed the story line and history in the book.

Great story
I really enjoyed reading this story of Addie and Isaac. I loved seeing God in this Christian fiction novel. God definitely took the glory in this book. I do not see that very often in the Christian fiction novels of today.
