Terrific triple packaging and simple, clear instructions
Today is Tuesday, May 09, 2023. I ordered the live Turkish milk kefir grains on Sunday, May 07, 2020 and they arrived today as promised. I read some negative reviews regarding poor packing so I am going to describe exactly how I received my live kefir grains. The live kefir grains were in a tiny plastic jar with lid tightly and securely screwed on. The tiny jar was placed in a vacuum sealed plastic bag and then placed in a zip lock bag.A green paper with simple instructions in a larger, easy to read font was enclosed in the zip lock bag.In it's own, separate bag zip lock was a booster mix in a silver bag with a paper with simple, clear instructions simply folded around it. This was all placed in a bubble wrap lined plain manila envelope and then placed in a bubble wrap lined amazon delivery bag. I absolutely loved the care taken to make sure the grains arrived in a secure manner. There was no unnecessary tape or anything to make it difficult to open. I am an older lady with poor eyesight so I was thrilled to receive instructions in a larger, easy to read font. I was excited to be making kefir for the first time so I had my milk, jar, rubber band, paper towel and silicone spatula all ready. I cut open the vacuum sealed bag and removed the little kefir grain jar. The inside of the bag was slightly wet with a clear liquid but the lid on the jar was tightly screwed on. When I opened the jar there was a white creamy substance which I assume is the kefir grains.I couldn't find a non-metal utensil small enough to fit inside the tiny jar so tapped the container against my glass jar to get out as much as I could. I could see a few grains that I couldn't tap out so I finally wiped off the outside of the little kefir jar and lid and just dropped them both in my big glass jar. I want to make sure I get every possible grain! I poured in the booster mix, covered it all in 1 cup of milk and stirred with my silicone spatula per instructions. I placed a paper towel on top and secured it with a rubber band. I labeled the jar with the date and time and now I will wait to see what happens!Based on the packing, easy to read instructions and fast delivery I would recommend ordering from this company. I will write a follow up review to let you know how the kefir grains worked.

Too Small
These Kefir grains populated two cups of milk in three days. I separated the solids from the liquid and then strained the solids to filter out the grains. There were no grains to speak of. All of the starter grains were consumed in the fermentation process because the starting batch I was shipped was tiny. It was slightly under 10 gm. I hate giving this product a bad review because the grains were healthy, but the fact that the starting sample is so small, makes this product unusable.

A little dab will do ya...
"Wow that's tiny!" were the first words that came out of my mouth when I opened the package. As the container did reveal a little clump of grains. But my past history of fermenting things, from beer to kimchi gave me a little reassurance that if you set up the environment correctly, the cultures will do all the legwork for you.Instructions were easy to understand. I used a wide mouth mason jar and a small hand towel to cover with an elastic band to keep in place. Tossed in their added packet which are probably nutrients to kick start the grains and added a small amount of milk.I did however insulate the jar with a small towel and placed it on a small heat mat that I normally use to start seeds for gardening. Just enough to sustain a good warm temp (but not hot) as my kitchen was a bit on the colder side and avoid fluctuating temps. I swirled the jar on a few occasions to check on the progress of the grains, and they were happily doing their work and multiplying.I strained the 1st batch, tossed the grains back in the jar with some more milk and the photo speaks for itself. The grains have replicated beyond what I had initially received and indicates that they're quite healthy. In my opinion, it is a worth while investment if you consume kefir on a regular basis.

While the product failed, seller offered to replace.
The product arrived in good time. Directions were clear. I followed the directions to activate the grains but the process failed. The milk thickened up like it should, but smelled horrible and I could not find any grains when I strained it out. The good news is that Tramega readily offered to replace the product. I'll report on the second attempt once I have the replacement.
