Yuck! Don’t buy this product! It’s awful!
I usually don’t review products I buy on Amazon, but I felt compelled to review this one. I received the product from Amazon today. It arrived on-time and in perfect condition (intact). I immediately opened up a package and tried it. It was terrible, awful! It didn’t taste like Red Vines at all. It tasted like artificially flavored chemicals. I immediately dumped it in the trash — the whole box. Now I realize that sugar-free strawberry licorice is not going to taste as good as the equivalent product with sugar, but this was really awful tasting. I recently also purchased Twizzler’s sugar-free strawberry red licorice and the Twizzler’s was much better by an order of magnitude! If you are looking for a sugar-free strawberry red licorice product, I recommend the Twizzler’s hands down. Stay away from Red Vines sugar free red strawberry licorice. Save yourself the money. It is “gag me with a spoon” awful/terrible. I would give this product (Red Vines sugar-free strawberry licorice) zero stars, if it were possible to do so. It is that bad. Really! Stay away!!!

They're okay, but the initial "mouth feel" taste is a little unusual
These may be an acquired taste. I was looking for a low/no sugar alternative and thought I'd try these out. I've ready the horror stories about stomach issues but there's only one way to know if it would affect me, and that's to try it.Fortunately I don't seem to have a problem with the sweetener used in these. I stuck to the recommended serving size of 4 (although yesterday I did have 6 just to finish the bag) and I had no ill effects. My complaint is more about the flavor... the first time I tried it, it just seemed unusual... I don't know how else to describe it. I enjoy regular Red Vines but these have a different taste. I know, I know... it's not the same thing and it would be expected to taste a little different, but the flavor had a certain "something" that I don't know how to describe. Maybe a little "alcoholish" if that's possible? I know the sugar substitute has "sugar alcohols" and who knows, maybe that's reflected in the taste?I do admit that after those first few, when I went back in following days and had more of them, the taste didn't strike me in that same way and became a little more enjoyable. So maybe it was just that psychological effect when you bit into something expecting one thing and get something else, it throws you off, but then you know what to expect and it's not as bad?Whatever the case, once I finish this box of packages, I -probably- won't buy more, or try some other brands/options, but we'll see.
