Pumping Nylon: A Classical Guitarist's Technique Handbook (Book & Online Audio)

Great book with tons of information and exercises to improve left and right hand technique. I had not played guitar for a while and was shocked at how much ability I had lost in both hands, having been an advanced player before. I also use Tarrgs's technical exercises to boost my technique but this book was brilliant. There are so many exercises that you can pick and choose which ones to work on such as improving slurs, accuracy and stretching the left hand and improving your reach. Lots of right hand exercises such as improving accuracy, I found I was hitting the wrong strings having lost the automatic memory for this. There is now a great improvement. All in all a very useful technical book to have.

Very good book sound quality is a little quiet but the dvd is priceless not for people who want tabs

If you really want to learn the guitar like a classical guitarist, not just strum a few cords, then this is the book. The video is a must to go with this book.The author uses an unconventional method of teaching guitar, but by jingles it works. Like everything else, dedicated practice is needed to achieveI would recommend this teaching manual, which takes from the right fingernails to playing a peace from Bach in no time.One thing to remember the DVD is authorised for ZONE1 USA only. This is important if you have a single Zone DVD palyer

I enjoyed the book very much.Although there is a lot of good content my personal preference is for traditional repetiore and slightly less from the more contemporary composers, that said I do believe this package is good value.

Decent guide - odd that he seems to talk about quite complicated stuff before starting on the basics - but I just ignore that for now

this is well worth the investment. certainly an ongoing addition for someone working through the early/mid years of learning the classical guitar

great buy this have everything for the beginner, but why do they never deal with reading music, or the likes of d tuning f tuning, why assume a novice knows that stuff

More for the intermediate guitar player than a novice. Some good musical pieces and tips.
